In this video I show you the BEST Powerbait rig/setup for Trout fishing in ponds and lakes.
I went to one of my favorite local ponds to do some Trout fishing. I decided to use Powerbait and I wanted to show you my favorite setup. It's very easy and simple. It works GREAT! Carp Fishing Truckee River
When you live in the mountains, trout fishing can be a bit repetitive. So it has been my goal to find places around the state to fish for warm water game fish to show the diversity Nevada has to offer to non-trout anglers. Here is a section of the Truckee River by Reno that offers some fantastic sport carp fishing. Rig up a worm and let it flow with the current and see what you get!

HEAVEN ON EARTH | Lake Superior's Rugged Wilderness
While my heart lies for the most part in the Boreal Forest of Woodland Caribou Provincial Park, the north shore of Lake Superior has been calling me back for years.....well 10 years to be exact. It's been a long, long, long time since I've taken the opportunity to head back to my old stomping grounds......
Well, the moment finally arrived as I headed down south to get married. Instead of catching a flight into Toronto, I jumped in the car and drove 20 hours to the wilderness I grew up playing in.....the wilderness of Lake Superior Provincial Park. More precisely the Sand River area. I've spend countless hours hiking and fishing this area in the past and it felt so good to finally be back amongst the rushing waters and worn granite. There's just something about coming home after all these years.
After a few days of exploring the area I continued my drive to Toronto to get hitched.....See you all in a few weeks!

Deadly river conditions claims lives across California
So far this year, 19 people lost their lives in California rivers. Fast moving water, cold temperatures and fluctuating water levels are creating deadly conditions in rivers. Officials suggest that people cool down in lakes instead of rivers this summer.

We keep our prices affordable so we can help each other out. (We live quite far from Arnold and don't have a chance to get to our family cabin as often as we'd like so we will rent it to you at a great price.) This cozy cabin is really a small mountain home nestled in the Sierra mountains and surrounded by tall, fragrant pine trees. It has 2 bedrooms and a large loft and sleeps 4-12 people. (2 Queen beds - one in each of 2 bedrooms. 1 Cal King and 4 Twins in the loft. Two side couches can be made into Twin beds.)
Please visit our website: for an updated calendar, photos, and LOTS of great information on Things To Do In The Area (complete with website links and phone numbers).
There is a full kitchen; large living room with wood-burning fireplace, comfy couches and lots of pillows; a separate video / Xbox area in the loft; and a dining table great for playing games with the whole family together. The wrap-around deck is new and is a perfect place for BBQs or just relaxing and enjoying the abundant fresh air. For summertime fun, it's just a short trip down the hill to Fly-In Lake, complete with a small sandy beach and floating raft for swimming and playing (and don't forget to watch the geese fly in at dusk!). Nearby is an 18-hole golf course as well as the Blue Lake Springs Recreation Center with swimming pool, tennis courts, basketball, ping pong, shuffleboard, horseshoes, bocce courts, volleyball, badminton, snack bar, kid's activities and outdoor movies shown during the warm summer nights.
In the winter months, Arnold has some great options - Bear Valley ski resort, just a 30-minute drive to the east, is known as a family-friendly, affordable resort, which offers excellent downhill and cross-country skiing for all skill levels, as well as other popular winter activities such as are sledding, snowshoeing, snowboarding and snowmobiling. (And don't forget mountain biking and hiking in the summer!)
Not to be missed in any season is Big Trees State Park where you can experience the Giant Sequoia Redwoods standing 150 feet tall and 30 feet across. With great nature and hiking trails perfect for all ages, this park is just a 10-minute drive away (just past the city limits of Arnold) and a great opportunity to see some of California's true gems.
Fishing, boating and other water activities abound in one of the many lakes, streams and rivers including the Stanislaus River, Alpine Lake (our favorite!), Mokelumne River, Bear Creek, Rattlesnake Creek, New Melones Lake, Mosquito Lake, Union & Utica Reservoirs, New Spicer Reservoir and many others.
And don't forget a visit to the nearby Gold Rush towns of Murphys (quaint downtown with shops & restaurants) and Colombia (preserved 1850's main street, carriage rides, old-time photos, panning for gold) as well as many award-winning wineries and tasting rooms, three golf courses, or three of the area's breathtaking caverns (California, Mercer and Moaning) which are open for exploring and tours. These are some of the best the Sierras have to offer!
We always enjoy ourselves so much when we're in this area and know your family will too. Re-connect, have fun, and make yourselves at home!
