LAKE Tahoe 2020 Part-1 | Things To Do In South Lake Tahoe | FIT TRAVELLER | Daily Vlogs | California
Lake Tahoe is a large freshwater lake in the Sierra Nevada Mountains, straddling the border of California and Nevada. It’s known for its beaches and ski resorts. On the southwest shore, Emerald Bay State Park contains the 1929 Nordic-style mansion Vikingsholm. Along the lake’s northeast side, Lake Tahoe Nevada State Park includes Sand Harbor Beach and Spooner Lake, a gateway to the long-distance Tahoe Rim Trail.
Lake Tahoe is a major tourist attraction in both Nevada and California. It is home to winter sports, summer outdoor recreation, and scenery enjoyed throughout the year. Snow and ski resorts are a significant part of the area's economy and reputation.
Sand Harbor is one of the top 10 beaches in the Tahoe area and is one of the best places to go swimming. The water is shallow toward the beaches and gradually gets deeper, so it's great for smaller children. There are piles of granite boulders along the corners of the beaches where you can practice some cool jumps.
Hitchhiking is quite common around Tahoe and generally safe. ... Bears are common around Lake Tahoe, and though rarely dangerous they can be a nuisance.
Lake Tahoe gets an average of 250 to 300 sunny days a year. Humidity is very low, especially in summer. Water temperatures range from 32-degrees in winter to 68-degrees in the summer.

Taylor Creek South Lake Tahoe CA - Northern California Sierra Nevada - Kokanee Salmon Spawn Spawning
Taylor Creek is located in South Lake Tahoe CA - Northern California Sierra Nevada mountains. Taylor Creek is located along side Hwy/Highway 50 and Hwy/Highway 89 traveling towards Emerald Bay or Emerald Bay State Park. Kokanee Salmon spawn, fishes spawning. There were literally thousands and thousands of fishes flocked together in a creek below a bridge in South Lake Tahoe CA (Northern California USA) during the first part of fall or autumn season. What a treat to watch a bunch of red colored fishes all in one little area. This is where the bear or bears have get some food or meal before they hibernate and hide in the mountain for the winter days/months. Here in Taylor Creek is the feeding ground for the bears. Majority of the fishes spend their lives in Lake Tahoe but they go here in Taylor Creek to spawn.

Cascade Falls, Lake Tahoe
Cascade Falls Hiking Trail - One of our favorite Lake Tahoe hikes delivering on gorgeous views, dramatic setting and impressive water fall destination. This one mile hike into Cascade Falls is moderate, but it's shorter destination was ideal for our five year old daughter. Pack a lunch or snack to enjoy by the stream while you take in the views of Cascade Lake and Lake Tahoe. In the summer bring your swim suit for a little dip in the small pools of water above the falls. View hiking trail details at

Here is one of the rare videos I post every handful of months. Hopefully this poops tons on my last trash video.
Locations in video:
*South Lake Tahoe, cabin near Pioneer and US-50
*Emerald Bay State Park, near pathway and parking lot, a lot of people hike all the way down to the castle, about a mile hike downhill
*Chimney Beach, a hard hike if you bring a lot of stuff and take the shorter way its more of a straight shot down, if not the hike is 2.4 miles and flat but will take a little longer; park at Secret Harbor parking lot, or along side the road and walk in
*Sand Harbor State Park- Parking is $10 regular and $20 for boat parking/loading, you MUST get here early, within 8-9 I would say in popular times or weekends, once it closes you have to shuttle, no walk ins and no dropping off boats/paddle boards, etc. Once they reach a specific capacity they won't reopen the gates until 3pm, a lot of the overflow goes into Chimney beach which also fills up early, without the hike Chimney beats sand harbor
*Stateline- a lot of shops leading up, local artists, local businesses
*Truckee River Rafting Co: even on chill days you can't call same day, to save some money I would call and schedule an appointment, you get a raft and it takes 2-3 hours, they shuttle you back in a school bus to the parking lot

Lake Tahoe Vacation Travel Guide
Lake Tahoe Vacation Travel Guide
Filled with over 39 trillion gallons of pure Sierra snowmelt and pushed a mile into the Californian and Nevada skies, Lake Tahoe is the USA’s largest alpine lake and one of the country’s oldest, year-round vacation playgrounds.
Lake Tahoe has forever drawn travellers to its shores, from the Native Americans who call this place Big Water, to the trappers, timber cutters and pioneers who followed.
When you’re ready for a little alpine magic, take the four-hour drive from San Francisco to the sunlit shores of Kings Beach. Set on Tahoe’s northern end, this beach was named after local card shark, Joe King, who used his winnings to develop some of the lake’s earliest lodgings. On the lake’s southern shore, is Pope Beach, where you’ll find another Tahoe institution, Camp Richardson.
From Pope Beach follow the bike path to the Taylor Creek Visitor Center. An open-air classroom for the entire family, the center features fabulous interpretative walks such as the Rainbow Trail.
Nearby, at DL Bliss State Park, follow the spectacular Rubicon Trail into neighboring Emerald Bay State Park. This park is home to the Eagle Falls Trail, a moderate two-mile hike that takes in some of the Sierra high country’s finest views.
When the ponderosa pines bend with the season’s first snow, Tahoe transforms into the nation’s favorite winter playground. Whether you’re looking for snow-capped peaks or crystal clear coves, places to bond with loved ones or pockets of pure solitude, The Lake in the Sky has it all.

Lake Tahoe from the Snow Mountains (Kingsbury, NV)
This video is made up of the drive from Mottsville, NV to Kingsbury, NV. When we arrived in Kingsbury, we climbed a small mountain to get these great views of Lake Tahoe in the snow! This was taken in January.
Lake Tahoe (; Washo: dáʔaw) is a large freshwater lake in the Sierra Nevada of the United States. Lying at 6,225 ft (1,897 m), it straddles the state line between California and Nevada, west of Carson City. Lake Tahoe is the largest alpine lake in North America, and at 122,160,280 acre⋅ft (150.7 km3) trails only the five Great Lakes as the largest by volume in the United States. Its depth is 1,645 ft (501 m), making it the second deepest in the United States after Crater Lake in Oregon (1,949 ft or 594 m).The lake was formed about two million years ago as part of the Lake Tahoe Basin, with the modern extent being shaped during the ice ages. It is known for the clarity of its water and the panorama of surrounding mountains on all sides. The area surrounding the lake is also referred to as Lake Tahoe, or simply Tahoe. More than 75% of the lake's watershed is national forest land, comprising the Lake Tahoe Basin Management Unit of the United States Forest Service.
Lake Tahoe is a major tourist attraction in both Nevada and California. It is home to winter sports, summer outdoor recreation, and scenery enjoyed throughout the year. Snow and ski resorts are a significant part of the area's economy and reputation. The Nevada side also offers large casinos, with highways providing year-round access to the entire area.
