During a short work trip I took to beautiful San Francisco, California, I flew my DJI Phantom 4 Pro Obsidian drone at sunrise and sunset (pretty much the times I was not working). The aerial views I captured were stunning. The footage was filmed in November 2017 after only owning my drone for about 2 weeks. I just decided to revisit and reedit this footage again to produce a better compilation. San Francisco is a truly magical city - especially during golden hour!

LOCATION

HISTORY

CLIMATE
San Jose, like most of the Bay Area, has a Mediterranean climate. San Jose has an average of 301 days of sunshine and an annual mean temperature of 15.8 °C. Because of a more prominent rain shadow from the Santa Cruz Mountains, Downtown San Jose experiences the lightest rainfall in the city. COMMUNICATION
Rail service to and from San Jose is provided by Amtrak. VTA also operates many bus routes in San Jose and the surrounding communities, as well as offering paratransit services to local residents. Additionally, the Highway 17 Express bus line connects central San Jose with Santa Cruz. San Jose is served by Norman Y. Mineta San Jose International Airport,two miles northwest of downtown, and by Reid-Hillview Airport of Santa Clara County a general aviation airport located in the eastern part of San Jose.
GOVERNMENT
The city has a council-manager government with a city manager nominated by the mayor and elected by the city council. The San Jose City Council is made up of ten council members elected by district, and a mayor elected by the entire city. During city council meetings, the mayor presides, and all eleven members can vote on any issue. The mayor has no veto powers. Council members and the mayor are elected to four-year terms. The City Manager is the chief administrative officer of the city.
ARCHITECTURE
San Jose has many examples of houses with fine architecture. Late 19th century and early 20th century styles exist in neighborhoods such as Hanchett Park, Naglee Park, Rose Garden, and Willow Glen. Notable architects include Frank Delos Wolfe, Theodore Lenzen, Charles McKenzie and Julia Morgan.
ECONOMY
The San Jose Metropolitan Area has the most millionaires and the most billionaires in the United States. San Jose has the most expensive housing market in the country and the fifth most expensive housing market in the world. Major global tech companies including Cisco Systems, eBay, Cadence Design Systems, Adobe Systems, PayPal, Brocade, Samsung, Acer, and Western Digitalmaintain their headquarters in San Jose, in the center of Silicon Valley.
The cost of living in San Jose and the surrounding areas is among the highest in California and the nation.
SILICON VALLEY
The large concentration of high-technology engineering, computer, and microprocessor companies around San Jose has led the area to be known as Silicon Valley. San Jose residents produce more U.S. patents than any other city. By April 2018, Google was in the process of planning the biggest tech campus in Silicon Valley in San Jose.

There are more than 50 hills within city limits.
Some neighborhoods are named after the hill on which they are situated, including Nob Hill, Potrero Hill, and Russian Hill. Near the geographic center of the city, southwest of the downtown area, are a series of less densely populated hills.
Twin Peaks, a pair of hills forming one of the city's highest points, forms a popular overlook spot. San Francisco's tallest hill, Mount Davidson, is 928 feet (283 m) high and is capped with a 103-foot (31 m) tall cross built in 1934.
Dominating this area is Sutro Tower, a large red and white radio and television transmission tower.
The nearby San Andreas and Hayward Faults are responsible for much earthquake activity, although neither physically passes through the city itself. The San Andreas Fault caused the earthquakes in 1906 and 1989.
Minor earthquakes occur on a regular basis. The threat of major earthquakes plays a large role in the city's infrastructure development.
The city constructed an auxiliary water supply system and has repeatedly upgraded its building codes, requiring retrofits for older buildings and higher engineering standards for new construction.
However, there are still thousands of smaller buildings that remain vulnerable to quake damage. USGS has released the California earthquake forecast which models earthquake occurrence in California.
San Francisco's shoreline has grown beyond its natural limits. Entire neighborhoods such as the Marina, Mission Bay, and Hunters Point, as well as large sections of the Embarcadero, sit on areas of landfill.
Treasure Island was constructed from material dredged from the bay as well as material resulting from tunneling through Yerba Buena Island during the construction of the Bay Bridge.
Such land tends to be unstable during earthquakes. The resulting soil liquefaction causes extensive damage to property built upon it, as was evidenced in the Marina district during the 1989 Loma Prieta earthquake.
Most of the city's natural watercourses, such as Islais Creek and Mission Creek, have been culverted and built over, although the Public Utilities Commission is studying proposals to daylight or restore some creeks

About South San Francisco:
South San Francisco is a city in San Mateo County, California, United States, located on the San Francisco Peninsula in the San Francisco Bay Area. The population was 63,632 at the 2010 census.[7]
South San Francisco is located at 37°39′22″N 122°25′32″W (37.655983, -122.425525)[9]. According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 30.2 square miles (78 km2), of which, 9.1 square miles (24 km2) of it is land and 21.0 square miles (54 km2) of it (69.69%) is water.
South San Francisco lies north of San Bruno and San Francisco International Airport in the Colma Creek valley south of Daly City, Colma, Brisbane, and San Bruno Mountain; east of Pacifica and the hills of the northern Coast Range lying along the San Andreas Fault; west of the waters of San Francisco Bay. Locals often refer to the town as South City, in much the same way that San Francisco is called The City. Belying the name, South San Francisco does not touch on San Francisco, with either Brisbane, Colma, or Daly City lying between them.
Most of the valley faces east toward San Francisco Bay, affording bay views from higher levels. South San Francisco has mild winters and dry cool summers. The hills to the west shield the eastern parts of the city from some of the fog that prevails in neighboring areas.
The population grew from 4,411 in 1920 to 67,009 in 2014.[10]. It has tripled since World War II with the opening of such subdivisions as Buri Buri, Winston Manor and Westborough on the slopes west of El Camino;
The city is particularly noted for the South San Francisco hillside sign on Sign Hill, which rises to the north of the city, with large white letters that proclaim South San Francisco, The Industrial City. The sign, a tribute to the city's industrial past, is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.[11]
