AmericaJR.com's Jason Rzucidlo reports from the Orange County Fairgrounds in Costa Mesa, Calif. for the 2014 Orange County (OC) Fair. The fair first took place in the year 1890 and consisted of some minor exhibits in Santa Ana and a horse race. It was grown each and every year to become the ninth-largest fair in the United States with attendance well over 1 million each season. Epic Road Trip - Philly to Cali Edition
Growing up just outside of a major city, you can become accustomed to a certain way of life, a somewhat frantic & fast paced life. There's nothing wrong with that, but also realize there's so much more out there. If you get a chance, get in your car and go. Go wherever you want. In the last year I've driven across the country 3x's, twice by myself. I ended up moving from the Northeast to what may be its American opposite, Southern California.
Nothing was set up or planned-out for when I arrived in Orange County. I figured I'd just take a chance, so I packed my car up, and hit the road. Me and my '93 Honda Accord vs. The United States. Before I left I had a loose itinerary of different spots in the U.S. I wanted to hit and some old friends I was hoping to catch up with along the way.
Within 6 months I did more than I could have imagined. I toured the country, faced my fear of heights by hiking Angel's Landing in Zion, learned to surf, experienced Taco Tuesdays, landed a role in a commercial, drove my first boat, touched the Hollywood sign, melted in the desert heat of Arizona, went to the OC Fair almost every night it was open, and ate at the Food Truck Round-Up every Thursday for lunch. However, none of that compares to the times I had with the friends I made along the way. All of my favorite memories are delicately intertwined with those who I shared them with and I don't even think it really mattered what I was doing, looking back on it, what stands out in my mind is who I was with.

About 20 demonstrators arrested outside of Trump rally in California
Some 20 demonstrators were arrested on Thursday outside a Donald Trump campaign rally in southern California, where the Republican presidential front-runner vowed to his supporters to get tough on illegal immigration if elected.
Demonstrators smashed the window of a police squad car, marched in protest and blocked traffic as police in riot gear tried to disperse the crowd outside of the county fair grounds in Costa Mesa, California, according to local media and the Twitter account of the Orange County Sheriff's Department.
The department said on its Twitter account that about 20 arrests were made and that no major injuries were reported.
Trump visited Costa Mesa, a city of more than 100,000 people, a third of whom are Hispanic or Latino, hoping to garner support in California where voters will go to the polls during the state's Republican primary on June 7.
A strong primary win in California for the billionaire could thrust him above the delegate count needed to secure the Republican nomination for president and avoid a contested party convention in July.
During the campaign stop on Thursday, Trump promised to get tough on illegal immigration by building a wall on the border between Mexico and the United States, a popular theme of his presidential campaign, suggesting that a wall would stop drugs from coming into this country.
The drugs are poisoning our youth and a lot of other people and we are going to get it stopped, he said, telling the crowd that he would force Mexico to pay for the wall.
After the event, local news showed hundreds of demonstrators surrounding vehicles, waving Mexican flags and holding signs in protest of Trump outside of the Orange County Fair and Event Center. At least one demonstrator was shown jumping on the top of a police car while other demonstrators were seen shaking a police vehicle.
Trump has come under fire from rivals for fueling unrest with his rhetoric as several of his rallies around the country have been met by protests during the last several months.

First we visit the Irvine Regional Park where we learned about animals at the Orange County Zoo, rode a paddle boat and a surrey bike with Wheel Fun Rentals, and boarded a train with Irvine Park Railroads. Then we had lunch at The Pie Hole, browsed some antique shops, checked out the historic Watson's Soda Fountain, and viewed paintings at HIlbert Museum of California Art.
