What do the five original 78RPM Elvis Presley Sun Records, a set of KISS Dolls and a 12 string autographed guitar once owned by Johnny Cash have in common? They are all hanging on the walls at Legends Corner (a true Honky Tonk Row treasure) along with such memorabilia as first albums done by many of country music’s Legends. When you walk in the door of Legends Corner you are astounded by the number of albums on the wall and the unusual musical instruments from all over the world, like a didgeridoo from Australia, a balalaika from Russia or a pickin’ stick from Appalachia.

VLOG Episode 102: WHAT TO DO IN NASHVILLE - CHEAP/FREE
What to do in Nashville --- that won't break the bank??
#1 Stay outside of town. Our hotel was VERY nice and we were just 10 minutes east of downtown in a city called Mt. Juliet. You could catch an UBER to Broadway --- all the great music --- and save on parking.
#2 Do things that don't cost money. We visited Broadway, which has THE BEST MUSIC AROUND. I don't think it would matter which establishment you visited, the MUSIC is second to none! We also visited the Gaylord Opryland Resort. We parked by the movie theater --- next parking lot over --- and didn't spend a dime! Definitely worth your time!
#3 Check out The Listening Room. Great food, great music, great service, great atmosphere! --- cheap tickets --- I've linked our video here ---
#4 HATTIE B'S CHICKEN --- A Nashville MUST VISIT. Life changing chicken. No excused, you gotta go!

USA - Southern Hospitality 2011 - Tootsie's Orchid Lounge (Pt. 1)
July 21, 2011. On our third night in Nashville, Sophie and I went to the historic Tootsie's Orchid Lounge in Nashville's honkytonk district and listened to an up-and-coming band rock out their cover of Save a Horse, Ride a Cowboy.
I loved the music and how cheap/plentiful the beer was that day. A round of PBR for everyone!
The Gordons on St. Louis TV
Interview from several years ago on St. Louis television.
Meet Gary and Roberta Gordon. Influenced by the great music of their era, this husband and wife duo were baptized by bluegrass music and have made wonderful folk music ever since. Accompanied by Gary's tasteful Gallagher guitar and dobro, Roberta plays the American born Appalachian autoharp. With many recordings to their credit since 1976 , harmony singing is their signature.
The Gordons have been bringing their music to audiences throughout the United States since the 1970s, particularly in the Midwest and the Carolinas. During the 1970s, they released two records: Southern Illinois Bluegrass, and Covered Bridge, both of which received national radio airplay. In the late 1980s, they played a $150 per ticket show in Chicago, Illinois at the Swiss Grand Hotel. They also recorded a live concert in Cincinatti, Ohio at at the celebrated Old Time Music Hall , with special guests, dobro great Josh Graves and Kenny Baker (Bill Monroe's Bluegrass Boys).
In 1990, they explored a different sound with a country-rock record, Wasn't Born to Follow, which featured fiddle great Wade Ray; in 1995, they released a gospel record, Family Bible. Radio recognition was swift, and the single Dust On The Bible was praised in Europe as well as the U.S. Longtime broadcaster Dave Higgs of WPLN said: I'll be spreading The Gospel According To The Gordons here in Nashville. 1997 brought End Of A Long Hard Day on Reception Records. Edward Morris of Billboard reviewed the record, and praised the fidelity with which the group conjures up memories of a sweet rural world now long vanished.
In addition to touring the United States, European acceptance of Family Bible secured an invitation to tour Ireland in the mid-1990s, where they performed on RTE, Ireland's national television network, in addition to live radio programs. Richard Gladney of the Irish Bluegrass Music Club said: Rest easy, Mr. Monroe. Your music is in good hands. The Gordons returned to Ireland three times, in addition to the Czech Republic and the Netherlands, where they took part in the first ever European World of Bluegrass Festival Series, held at venues throughout Holland, under the auspieces of the International Bluegrass Music Association. Strictly Country Records released Live in Holland in 1999, featuring Gary and Roberta returning to their duet roots, using only guitar, autoharp, dobro, and voice.
During this time, they also recorded songs for two projects under the name Summervilla, recorded live in the historic anti-bellium mansion of the same name, located on the Cape Fear River in Eastern North Carolina.
In 2002, The Gordons released Time Will Tell Our Story, featuring first-rate musicianship from the likes of Alison Brown (banjo) and fiddle from Robert Bowlin.Yet again, it was critically praised -- Bluegrass Unlimited stated that it was one of the strongest spiritual releases of the year.
While Gary Gordon released a blues record, Real Blue, in 2005, six years passed with little touring and visible activity from the duo. However, The Gordons never stopped writing, collecting, and recording songs. In 2008, they released Our Time on Inside-Out Records. Featuring fourteen songs, The Gordons impart fond reminders of childhood, hopefulness after loss, promise of redemption, and love of man. With the new release, Gary and Roberta will now head back out on the road to play as a duo once again.

Douglas Seegers (born c. 1952 in Long Island, New York, United States) is an American country music artist, guitarist and songwriter.
Life and work
Seegers who graduated from West Islip High School started playing music in New York and Austin, Texas, before moving to upstate New York, where he got married and raised two children. Eventually, Seegers made his way alone to Nashville, where he played on the streets and became a regular at The Little Pantry That Could, a West Nashville charity that holds regular songwriter nights. He basically lived as a homeless struggling musician.[1][2]
On 17 December 2012, Aaron Espe an American singer-songwriter and record producer based in Nashville, Tennessee uploaded a live 1 minute 11 second rendition of Doug Seegers singing Going Down to the River on his own YouTube account. Espe entitled his upload Who Is Doug Seegers?. The video did not pick up much reaction though.
Doug Seegers became known to the Swedish public when he appeared during the Swedish TV show presented by Jill Johnson titled Jills veranda on 5 March 2014. Jills veranda was a 6-episode SVT TV series recorded in Nashville, where Johnson and six Swedish artists explore the city. At the time the program was recording, its presenter Jill Johnson, her guest Magnus Carlson and the production team from Eyeworks met Seegers who was sitting on a park bench in Nashville. Just minutes earlier, Johnson, was buying food from a street vendor, and the latter upon hearing she was filming a documentary about music in Nashville, recommended that they give a listen to a street musician just across the street telling her You have to hear him, he has the most unique voice in country music. Johnson took the advice and headed towards Seegers. Doug Seegers performed his own song Going Down to the River. Johnson and Carlson loved his performance so much that they returned some time later and offered to record the song with him in Johnny Cash's old studio in Nashville.

Lyrics:
I believe my steps are growin' wearier each day
Still I've got another journey on my mind
Lures of this old world have ceased to make me wanna stay
And my one regret is leavin' you behind
But if it proves to be his will that I am first to go
And somehow I've a feelin' it will be
When it comes your time to travel likewise, don't feel lost
For I will be the first one that you'll see
And I'll be waiting on the far side banks of Jordan
I'll be sitting drawing pictures in the sand
And when I see you coming, I will rise up with the shout
And come running through the shallow waters, reaching for your hand
Through this life we've labored hard to earn our meager fare
It's brought us trembling hands and failing eyes
So I'll just rest here on this shore and turn my eyes away
Until you come, then we'll see paradise
And I'll be waiting on the far side banks of Jordan
I'll be sitting drawing pictures in the sand
And when I see you coming, I will rise up with the shout
And come running through the shallow waters, reaching for your hand
I'll be waiting on the far side banks of Jordan
I'll be sitting drawing pictures in the sand
And when I see you coming, I will rise up with the shout
And come running through the shallow waters, reaching for your hand, hmm
