Hama-rikyu, Tsukiji, Imperial Palace, Ginza, and Odaiba in a Day? | Tokyo, Japan Travel Episode 4
We had to catch up for our missed destinations from previous days so we combined the visit to Hama-rikyu Gardens, Tsukiji Market, the Imperial Palace, Ginza and Odaiba in our last day here in Tokyo.
For nature trippers, one could never miss the Hama-rikyu Gardens where everything is green and quiet. Similar to New York's Central Park (the smaller version though), the Hama-rikyu Gardens can be combined with a water boat cruise from the Sumida River Boat Terminal at Asakusa - the ticket price already includes the entry to the garden grounds.
The Tsukiji market is where you should go if you're craving for real Japanese sushi and sashimi, with restaurants serving these conveyor belt style.
The Imperial Palace is just a short walk from the Tokyo Railway Station, which boasts of old-style Japanese architecture. The Tokyo Railway Station is also there if you are traveling to other cities within Japan.
Ginza may ring a bell to shopaholics for luxury brands. Ginza has a stretch of brand name stores, including Japan's very own Uniqlo. The Uniqlo at Ginza is Uniqlo's largest global flagship store.
Lastly, Odaiba is a man-made island structure that offers more sceneries to tourists. It is conveniently accessible via the Yurikamome line from the Shimbashi Station. We dropped at the Daiba Station where we visited Aqua City Odaiba, Decks, and the mini version of the Statue of Liberty in New York.

【Tokyo Sightseeing#11】Japanese Garden Walk#3/Hama-rikyu Garden (浜離宮庭園)/Chuo-ku, Tokyo
Hama-rikyu Garden is...
This is the family garden of Tokugawa Shogun which functioned as an outer fort for Edo castle that retains a tidal pond of seawater drawn from the bay called Shioiri-no-ike and two duck hunting grounds.
The highlight is...
Shioiri-no-ike The pond has a style to draw in seawater and change its apperance by add and flow of the tide. The pond is the only remaining seawater pond from the Edo era within Tokyo. Lock gates are opened and closed according to the rise and fall of of the water level in Tokyo Bay, thus adjusting the flow of water in and out of the pond. salt water fish such as striped mullet, young sea bass, goby and eel inhabit the pond.
Nakajima-no-ochaya This is rest house where the shogun, ladies and Imperial Court nobles enjoyed a view that they were all very fond of. The present building is a restored one build in 1983. Here, you can enjoy powdered green tea and Japanese sweets.
300-Year Pine This pine was planted 300 years ago to commemorate the great renovations made to the garden by the 6th shogun Ienobu. The thick branches spread out low, still keeping a proud imposing view.
Kamoba (Duck hunting sites) There are two Kamoba, Koshin-do Kamoba and Shinsen-za Kamoba. They are both old, the former built in 1778 and the latter built in 1791. Several narrow trenches were dug along the pond of kamoba. To lure the ducks into the trenches, bait such as barn grass and millet and decoy duck are used and watch their behavior from a small opening. Hunters measure the timing and catch them using hawks or a net from behind the mound. (From Hama-rikyu Gardens Guide)

Japanese MAGLEV Experience - The FASTEST Train in the WORLD at 500km+ per hour! | Yamanashi, Japan
My trip to Japan in January of 2019 was one of the coolest adventures I’ve ever been on. I got to spend twelve incredible days exploring the cities of Tokyo, Kyoto, and Osaka, as well as three of the prefectures, or states, around Tokyo. During that time, I got to see amazing attractions, visit beautiful Buddhist temples and Shinto shrines, and eat some of the most phenomenal food I’ve ever had in my life! I’m excited to share my Japanese adventures with you!
My day in the Yamanashi Prefecture began at the Maglev Exhibition Hall, an incredible center that is dedicated to educating people about the Maglev, which is the fastest train in the world and travels at speeds up to 500km per hour, which is double the speed of the Shinkansen bullet train! When the Maglev line between Tokyo and Osaka opens in 2027, a ride between the two cities will only take 67 minutes even though they’re 313 miles apart!
This train is so cool! From the center’s windows, we could watch Maglev trains speed by in the blink of an eye. They are insanely fast!
We also explored a life-sized model of a Maglev train. They’re so futuristic on the inside they look like a spaceship! It’s a very thin train, with a 2-2 seating arrangement in Economy Class, whereas the Shinkansen bullet trains are 3-2 seaters. The word “Maglev” is an abbreviation of “magnetic levitation,” which describes how the train levitates over its track. Because the train essentially floats, it has to be lightweight, which is why there aren’t as many seats inside.
After I tried (and failed) at getting a good stamp as a souvenir, I visited the Maglev Theatre, which shows a video explaining the advancements in train technology, as well as a simulation that recreates how it feels to ride a Maglev train. I couldn’t film inside, but it shakes and moves and is pretty crazy!
There’s also a diorama, or model, of a Maglev station, and a little car that you can ride in that uses magnetic levitation. It’s so cool! You really feel like you’re floating! There’s also an interactive exhibit where you crank a wheel as fast as you can to get the little train inside to float!
Afterward, I visited the gift shop, where I bought a toy Maglev train for my daughter. They also sell wines, chopsticks, pillows, socks, juices, shampoo, and more!
Then it was time for my next stop, which was the Fuji-Q Highland, an amusement in the town of Fujiyoshida, which is known for its extreme roller coasters, some of which have held world records for the fastest in the world and the steepest drop in the world! From the park, you have an amazing view of Mount Fuji!
The amusement park is huge! There are so many rides, including the roller coasters, as well as the most rotated ride in the world and others such as ferris wheels, carousels, and more.
I was a little scared to ride the roller coaster with the steepest drop in the world! I had to take everything off, take everything out of my pockets, and tape my camera to my arm! The ride was so intense and fast! I’m glad I decided to stow away my camera at the last minute! My new friend Haley from Girls Love Travel didn’t think it was scary, but I was a little scared!
The next roller coaster has the fastest acceleration in the world. Haley was ready, but it was so scary! I was a little dizzy afterward! After that was one that has 14 different loops. It rotates as it goes down the track. They even make you take your shoes off before you get on it because your legs hang off the seat as you ride. It was so amazing! It was exhilarating and my favorite ride of all-time!
Our final ride was the ferris wheel, which we rode at twilight to get some epic views of the park and Mount Fuji. From there, we could see people ice skating. The view was absolutely gorgeous!
Then it was time for a snack! I went with the Samurai Mochi, which has a lot of powder on it. I had it on the bus ride back. It’s a rectangular mochi that comes with a black sugar sauce. Trying it on the bus was a bad idea; I got it all over me!
I hope you enjoyed coming with me to the Maglev Exhibition Hall and Fuji-Q Highland Amusement Park! If you did, please give this video a thumbs up, leave me a comment below, and subscribe to my channel so you don’t miss out on any of my upcoming food and travel content!

You can take a variety of cruise boats along the Sumida River.
The most popular is to take a boat from Asakusa to Hinode Pier (or in reverse). There is a total of 12 bridges on this route.
Most tourists take the Asakusa to Hinode Pier route and get off at Hamarikyu Garden to enjoy the beautiful Japanese garden. Journey takes around 35 minutes to Hamarikyu Garden and an extra 5 minutes if going to Hinode Pier.

Hed in Japan - Along Sumida River - From Asakusabashi to Asakusa (Tokyo)
Hello Travelers!
Welcome to Toyko!
It's been over a year since I've been in Japan, but not all of my videos have been edited yet. Most people probably think that Tokyo is a crowded metropolis, which never comes to rest, but the Japanese capital has other sides. There are many quiet districts with parks and temples where you can't feel the hectic pace of the big city. Our accommodation was in Asakusabashi, very close to the river Sumida and therefore ideal for a morning walk along the waterfront.

Tokyo Skytree and Cherry Blossoms along Sumida River in Japan
One of the best places to see the Tokyo Skytree is along the Sumida River in Asakusa.
There are three train lines that go to Asakusa:
Tokyo Metro Ginza Line, Toei Asakusa Line, and Tobu Skytree Line.
The closest station to the Skytree is Oshiage on the Tobu Skytree Line.
One Fast Day in Tokyo: Take A Sumida River Cruise and Hama Rikyu Garden
The Sumida River Cruise runs from Asakusa to Hama Rikyu Garden - how convenient - and takes 35 minutes. It's a pleasure to relax on a boat after a long sightseeing day before tromping around Hama Rikyu, once a samurai duck hunting blind.
Kiyosubashi Bridge over Sumida River in Chuoku Tokyo Japan
In Chuo ward, population becomes the significant increase over the last 13 years. The factor is that the large supply of apartments at a reasonable cost is overlapped as well as good convenience and well-equipped urban infrastructure. The environmet in Chuo ward, it is amazing.
Tokyo: Sumida river cruise Asakusa
35 minutes, 980 yen, 1-2 boats per hour...
Note: The Sumida River Line runs from Asakusa to Hama Rikyu garden. The dock at Hama Rikyu is located within the garden's paid grounds, and admission to the garden is included in the price of the boat ticket. After Hamariku, the boats then travel a further five minutes to the Hinode Pier (40 minutes, 780 yen from Asakusa),
