Roseville, California
Roseville (formerly, Roseville Junction) is the largest city in Placer County, California, United States, in the Sacramento metropolitan area. As of January 1, 2015, the state Department of Finance estimated the city's population to be 128,382. Interstate 80 runs through Roseville and State Route 65 runs through part of the northern edge of the city.
The settlement was originally a stage coach station called Griders. According to the Roseville Historical Society, in 1864 the Central Pacific Railroad tracks were constructed eastward from Sacramento, and when they crossed a small California Central Railroad line they named the spot Junction. Junction eventually became known as Roseville. In 1909, three years after the Southern Pacific Railroad moved its facilities from Rocklin to Roseville, the town became an incorporated city.
Craft Beer in Sacramento
Sacramento is fast becoming a craft beer destination. From its history as the home of the largest beer company west of the Mississippi to the explosion of breweries and beer events in California's capital today, Sacramento is growing in stature in the beer scene.

ATS: US Expansion (Route 50): Las Vegas(NV.US) to Sacramento(CA.US)
This trip on my El CEJ profile routes via the part of US Route 50 added by the US Expansion map (2.5.1). Some of the rest of the trip is shown, but that is moderately to heavily edited.
The load is a long mobile barrier. The trip goes from the bitumen depot at the edge of Las Vegas, to roadworks to the north west of Sacramento.
The route heads north away from Las Vegas on route 93, then turns onto Nevada route 375 (a.k.a. the Extraterrestrial Highway). I edit out some strange lights near Rachel (no use starting rumors).
The route then turns west on highway 6 to Tonopah. This has been rebuilt in ATS 1.34 and is laid out much better than previously. We head along the 6/ 95 northwest to west, and at a small town, turn onto the 395. We follow this almost to Carson City, but take the turn west to Lake Tahoe. When we get to the top of the hill, we turn left onto route 50.
This is the new part of the route, and we skirt around the south end of the lake. Soon after that we enter the town of Lake Tahoe South. The route leaves the town, and climbs over the main range. On the descent I try to park the truck for a rest, but the rest stop does not let me rest. I therefore turn off fatigue simulation and continue past Placerville. The route descends to Sacramento, skirting the city centre before reaching Interstate 5.
At this point you would think we are almost there. Unfortunately though, it turns out there are roadworks (or a major accident) on the 5 just north of a major intersection with Interstate 80. We are forced to divert a long way either east or west. As it turns out we go west. This takes us along the 80, then we turn onto the 37 to San Rafael. Here we get onto Interstate 101, going north through Ukiah (as night falls) and Eureka. Here we turn east, fill up with fuel and travel on the 299 to Redding. I show all of the 299 trip, as it is very windy - a difficult trip during the night.
I head through part of Redding, but before reaching Interstate 5, turn south on the county road paralleling the 5. This travels quite some distance (edited out) before I reach the destination roadworks. It has been perhaps an extra 300 miles distance added to the trip.
This is using ATS version 1.34.0.5s. I am using the mods (in the order):
* Minimal adviser interface for ATS & ETS2;
* Top Corner Mirrors for ATS & ETS2;
* Jazzycat packs: Classic AI 2.9, Motorcycle 2.4, Painted Truck 1.4.1, Trailers & Cargo 2.2.2, Truck Traffic 2.0, Bus Traffic 1.3, and AI Traffic 5.9.
* Rick PP's ATS 2.0;
* Project Going North 0.8;
* US Expansion 2.5.1 (C2C compatible version);
* Radiator Springs;
* All Maps background;
* CanaDream 2.8;
* Coast to Coast 2.6;
* Mega Resources 2.0.9 (C2C compatible version);
* Mexissimap_SLP 1.2;
* Mexico Extremo 2.1.7;
* Viva Mexico 2.5.1;
Note, when adding this, you may have to use Active-X mode (the Steam start up mode).
See the following informative video from Klutch Simulators
for more details about the map mods above. Some changes have been made since then.

Thomas Bachmann Spencer Diesel Troublesome Trucks Trouble On The Tracks
Thomas and friends Bachmann, Hornby HO/OO model train fun. Unboxing of Spencer, Devious Diesel, Troublesome Trucks, Annie & Clarabel, Spencer's Special Expensive Coach. Also a look over the mint in box Thomas & Friends Wooden Railway toys I picked up at a local train show. I have the Learning Curve era Thomas, Percy, Madge, Whiff, Isabella and Sodor Weather Tracker that was nice to find. Anyway it's always fun to get out the train set and race the trains around the layout. My son loves to have really unusual diesel train combinations and high speed crashes are always part of the fun. The DVD I speak about is called Trouble On The Tracks, the first episode on that DVD is Thomas The Quarry Engine. This episode is very much like the earlier Thomas & Friends stories where the engines are all in a squabble. It was refreshing to see this style of Thomas storytelling.
Also a sneak peek at the 2015 Epping Model railway show, sadly the numbers were down and a lack of exhibits was disappointing to see. The most amazing exhibit there was Smuggler's Cove made by Geoff Nott and Michael Flack. Sadly Geoff passed away during the construction of this layout. It's On30 scale and it's completely saturated in the most amazing model railway detail and scenery based on the New England area in the USA. Smuggler's Cove is destined to be permanently exhibited in a new model railway exhibit established in Sacramento, California.

NICE Dover Scenic Traction Elevators-Kaiser Permanente Downtown-Sacramento, CA
This used to be a state building but they moved to another location about 3 years ago. 1 year later, construction crews started gutting the place. These used to be Dover with Traditional fixtures. If you never saw these before and weren't familiar with door tracks, you would never know these used to be Dover. This building is super super nice and the elevators run great. Elevator Industries was in charge of this project. They modded these three, along with two other Dovers (parking and service elevator). They did something interesting with the PS one. Stay tuned for next week!

The Stingray: How Law Enforcement Can Track Your Every Move
RALEIGH, North Carolina (WTVD) -- You could be just about anywhere and data on your cell phone can be scooped up by law enforcement without your ever knowing. It happens all the time.
The device that makes it possible is called a cell site simulator. That's the generic name; Stingray is the most common brand name.
Initially developed for military use, Stingrays have made their way into local police and sheriff's departments around the country. Months ago, the I-Team sent open records requests to every law enforcement agency in our viewing area and learned that three agencies close to home have been using cell site simulators: the Wake County Sheriff's Department, Durham Police Department, and Raleigh Police Department. A spokesperson for RPD told the I-Team they stopped using theirs when the software needed to be upgraded.
The ACLU's Mike Meno has been watching Stingrays spread into local law enforcement for years.
Like a lot of militarized technology and surveillance technology, this is something that was developed overseas and it was developed for one use, but then it comes back home and is used against our own citizens. It's used here in the States. And the government will say, 'We need to keep this confidential,' but we have constitutional rights. We're supposed to have checks and balances, he said.
Gangland Los Angeles CA, The Asian Boyz Deadliest Gangs
The Asian Boyz, or ABZ, are an Asian American street gang formed in the 1970s, according to the FBI,[1] or co-founded by Filipino American Marvin Shy Boy Mercado in the 1990s in southern California, according to The Huffington Post. Gang members are mainly males of Vietnamese, Cambodian or Laotian descent.
The gang are allied with the Crips. They are active in 14 states, in 28 different cities in the U.S
History:
The Asian Boyz was formed in Long Beach due to Asian immigrants being harassed by the East Side Longos, a Mexican American gang that originated from Anaheim Street.
On the East Coast, their gang colors are forest green, black and yellow. Asian Boyz also have a tattoo of a dragon head with crystal globes.On the West Coast, they use blue, similar to the Crips.
The Asian Boyz gang was established in Long Beach. There are additional factions in states on the east coast. However, the ABZ are spread across the United States, mainly on the east coast of the U.S. According to the FBI's National Gang Threat Assessment in 2011, the Asian Boyz has members in California, Massachusetts, Missouri, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, and Utah.
Notable crimes:
In August 1997, the leader of the Asian Boyz Van Nuys set, Sothi Menh, was arrested in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, and extradited to the United States after fleeing the country in January that year. He was wanted for committing five gang-related murders in the San Fernando Valley in 1995. In September 1998, seven of the Asian Boyz were charged with seven murders, 18 attempted murders and five instances of conspiracy to commit murder in Van Nuys, Los Angeles, in 1995.
On August 12, 2006, a fight broke out between Bloods and Asian Boyz gang members at a house in Lowell, Massachusetts, where a birthday party was being held. Asian Boyz members left the party and allegedly started throwing bottles and other objects. Billeoum Phan, 14, began firing at the Asian Boyz members. One of the shots hit Asian Boyz member Samnang Oth, killing him. Phan was convicted of manslaughter and sentenced to incarceration until he turns 21. He is required to serve a 5-year probation after his release.
Three members of the gang were charged with beating a 15-year-old boy named Sang Vu to death in New York, in December 2006. Richie Nguyen who was 16 was sentenced to 5 to 15 years of prison for manslaughter. Samnang Chou was sentenced to 10 years of prison for second-degree assault.
In March 2008, four men abducted 24-year-old Vutha Au from Santa Rosa and drove him to a beach near Jenner, California, where they fatally shot him. Quentin Russell, who was 24 years old at the time of the shooting, was the shooter, and brothers Sarith Prak and David Prak, and Preston Khaoone, were charged in connection with the murder and abduction of Au. All four defendants were convicted and sentenced to life without parole on July 27, 2012.
In the 1990s, Pierre Mercado, the brother of Marvin Mercado, was responsible for four murders in an attempt to intimidate other gangs. He fled to the Philippines and remained there for 11 years until he was extradited to the United States in 2012. In 2013, Mercado was sentenced to 218 years to life in prison.
Rivalries:
The Asian Boyz has been in a long conflict with the Wah Ching gang. One of the first shootouts between the two the gangs occurred in the 1990s. The shooting occurred in El Monte at a pool hall. An Asian Boyz gang member, Lea Mek, was killed by Wah Ching gang member Chung Lewong Yang. Another shootout between the two gangs occurred in San Marino that led to the deaths of two youths at a San Marino High School graduation party in June. After an investigation by the authorities, police claimed that when the Asian Boyz gang members arrived at the party, they saw that Wah Ching gang members were there, so they left and came back later with weapons to open fire on the Wah Ching gang members. Over nine gang members were arrested. Police searched the homes of the gang members and seized five weapons. The shootouts between the two gangs were called Summer Madness by the Asian Boyz gang.

LYRICS
Verse I
Listing capitals is so much for for me
In Alabama, you've got Montgomery
and in Alaska, you know Juneau's the boss
Phoenix in Arizona; Little Rock in Arkansas
In California, we've got Sacramento
Then we go to Denver out in in Colorado
Hartford, Connecticut; Dover, Deleware;
Listing all the state capitals everywhere because...
Chorus
50 states got 50 state capitals
All around the country, man, it's transnational
Trying to list them all might sound irrational
But, you gotta start somewhere
Verse II
Down in Florida, we got Tallahassee
Atlanta in Georgia; Honolulu, Hawaii;
Boise, Idaho; I don't know the next one
Capital of Illinois? Springfield's the correct one
Indianapolis, Indiana; Des Moines, Iowa
And then Topeka down in Kansas
Frankfort, Kentucky; then Louisiana's got Baton Rouge
And we keep running through all the...
Chorus
50 states got 50 state capitals
All around the country, man, it's transnational
Trying to list them all might sound irrational
But, you gotta start somewhere
Verse III
August, Maine; Annapolis, Maryland
Boston, Massachusetts and Lansing, Michigan
St. Paul, Minnesota then Jackson, Mississippi
Then in Missouri it's Jefferson City
Helena, the capital of Montana
Lincoln, Nebraska; Carson City, Nevada
Concord, New Hampshire; Trenton, NJ
Then down in New Mexico we've got Sante Fe
In New York, we're talking about Albany
Then Raleigh, NC; Bismarck, ND
In Ohio, Columbus leads the way
Then Oklahoma City in the state of OK!
And Salem is the capital of Oregon
Harrisburg, Pennsylvania; let's keep it moving on
Next is Providence in Rhode Island
Then Columbia down in South Carolina
Chorus
50 states got 50 state capitals
All around the country, man, it's transnational
Trying to list them all might sound irrational
But, you gotta start somewhere
Verse IV
Pierre, SD; Nashville, Tennessee;
Austin, Texas; Salt Lake City, UT
Montpelier, Vermont; Richmond in Virginia
The state of Washington with the city of Olympia
Charleston, West Virginia; we're almost done
Wisconsin's capital: you know it's Madison, then
a city in Wyoming that's called Cheyenne
But let's let the chorus come 'round again, it goes...
