All Hallows Terror Trail - York, October 2012
On a York city ghost walk you hear the stories of the areas grisly past. On the All Hallows Terror Trail they are brought to life in front of your eyes, live, real and in your face!
We have a special version of the York terror trail lined up for you, one that is sinister, challenging, demented and fun all rolled into one. You have heard so many stories of York's ghostly past but now you can see them lived out, real, in front of your face and interactive.
The tour begins each night outside the Golden Fleece, York's most haunted public house, and then takes you on a 2 hour terrifying, challenging and crazy adventure around the city. You will come face to face with Guy Fawkes, Margaret Clitherow and James Reid. See the plague child and Stingy Jack up close and personal, in your face, feel the story instead of hearing it.

Tour starts at 18:45 each night outside the Golden Fleece

£10 per person
Nightly tours operating between October the 20th and November the 3rd
The All Hallows Terror Trail features multiple live scare actors and special effects. These include fire, live animals, musical performances, dramatised executions, battle scenes and gore. The tour is open to all ages but adult supervision is required for anyone aged 16 years and under. Please be aware that at times the Terror Trail can be very scary for young children so parental discretion is advised upon booking

Step inside the banqueting suite at York's most haunted public house, the Golden Fleece and enter a world of dark wonder, macabre surroundings and sinister characters. Specially themed and decorated for the All Hallows dining experience, you will find yourself immersed in the horrors of York's past whilst enjoying a 3 course meal prepared by award winning chefs. As you eat your meal you will encounter strange goings on, scare actors, special effects and a detailed themed environment along with some surprises thrown in for good measure.
The award winning chefs have put together a scrumptious 3 course set meal for your enjoyment but remember, not everything is as is seems. Your menu choices are as follows:

The All Hallows themed dining experience uses scare actors who will interact with you during the meal although they won't directly engage you whilst you are eating. The use of special effects including sound, theatrical lighting and smoke will also be used during the performance. And as the night drew in we retired to bed, desperate for a chance to snuggle under the duvet and forget the horrors that we had witnessed this night; not a chance!
When you think its time to sleep you can think again as we transform the guest bedrooms at Golden Fleece, York's most haunted public house, into Fright Rooms for the All Hallows experience. Suitable for strictly over 18's, the Fright Rooms will take you deeper into the rabbit's hole than ever before. Your night time entertainment begins at check in where you will be taken to your room to discover that this isn't your usual hotel bedroom suite. Decorated like the set of a horror movie, our Fright Rooms will immerse you from the very beginning.
Once your city Terror Trail is over and you have eaten with us at the All Hallows dining experience the time will come when you go to bed, this is time our ghostly creatures come out to play and terrorise you late into the night. You will be visited throughout your stay by devilish characters that you have met during the night. Will the plague child come knocking, will the ghost of Guy Fawkes make and appearance, will Stingy Jack be hiding under your bed? We dare you to book a room and find out as fear surrounds you in 5 dimensions!
Terror rooms are strictly for over 18's and a disclaimer must be signed by each guest before the adventure can begin. If the night time activities become too much for you and you decide enough is enough then a special door hanged can be placed outside and no further interaction will happen between yourself and the ghouls that roam the corridors of the Golden Fleece.
It is important to be aware just what you are letting yourself in for by spending a night in a Fright Room but always remember; this is one experience you will NOT find anywhere else. The event is unique to York and one that will leave you thrilled, scared, laughing and haunted all at the same time. Our characters will come into your rooms unannounced during the night and provide scares, narrative and challenges to you. They may be lurking in the room when you think they have left, they may be hiding under the bed without you knowing and they may be hidden from view whilst you think you are safe. Fright rooms are NOT for the faint hearted and are for only the very bravest people, you have been warned.

All Hallows Fright Rooms start at 23:30 (or whenever you decide to go to bed after this time)
Finishing time is at 03:00 unless you place your Do Not Disturb sign up earlier
3 and a half hours in duration

The All Hallows Fright Rooms utilise live scare actors throughout the night that will engage with you inside your own bedroom. This is NOT a passive experience; it is an interactive, up close and personal scare entertainment experience that puts you into the middle of the action. The room will be altered and special effects will be placed inside. The use of lighting, smoke, sounds, theatrical illusions, gore and apparent paranormal phenomena are all included in the nightly show and the action will only stop when the clock strikes 3am or you decide you want to sleep and the do not disturb sign is placed outside.

8 1984 Soviet Union Outbreak
On the 9th of June 1984, the Ivanovo & Yaroslavi regions, located north of Moscow were affected by the tornado outbreak in Russian history. Out of the eleven twisters, at least two were equal to F4 & F5 intensity on the Fujita scale. The Fujita scale measures the intensity of a tornado mainly based on the magnitude of the damage it causes. The single tornado observed during the outbreak was the one near the town of Ivanovo. Rating an F5 it leveled 1,180 homes. Large industrial buildings & steel-reinforced concrete structures were reportedly swept away.
7 Bridge Creek-Moore Tornado
The highest winds ever recorded occurred during an F5 tornado on the 3rd of May 1999 that devastated southern parts of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma along with the surrounding towns & suburbs. The tornado travelled 38 miles during its 85 minute existence with wind speeds of over 301 miles per hour. The destruction began at 6:23 pm, Central Daylight Time, in Grady County quickly reaching F5 status as it entered the town of Bridge Creek having travelled 6.5 miles. It varied in strength but rose to F5 for a third time shortly before devastating the city of Moore.
6 2011 Super Outbreak
This was one of the costliest & largest tornado outbreaks in history, leaving a trail of devastation in its wake across the Southern, Midwestern & Northeastern United States. From Texas to New York to southern Canada, a total of 362 tornadoes were confirmed in 21 states. The combined individual paths of the events amounted to 3,200 miles. The 27th of April being the most active day of the outbreak. A record number of 218 tornadoes touched down from midnight to midnight. Four of the tornadoes were destructive enough to reach F5 status. The outbreak was one of the most costliest natural disasters in United States history causing 11 billion dollars-worth of damages.
5 Sicily Tornadoes
The Sicily tornadoes were two twisters that swept through the Marsala countryside in the western part of the Kingdom of the Two Sicilies, present day Italy. The event is said to have occurred in late November or early December, 1851. They represent the oldest recorded instances of the phenomena on Italian ground. The Sicily tornadoes began as two waterspouts that travelled across the Sicilian plains from Marsala to Castellamare del Golfo. As they moved north east, they evolved into a supercell of two massive tornadoes, located less than 1,600 feet apart.
4 Grand Harbor of Malta Tornado
Better known as the Valetta Tornado, this is said to be the worst tornado ever to take place on the European continent. On the 23rd of September 1551, or 1556 according to some sources, in the Grand Harbor of Malta beginning as a waterspout before turning into an intense tornado. At least four galleys belonging to the navy of the order of Saint John, namely San Claudio, San Filippo, San Michelle & Santa Fe, capsized during the tornado.
3 1969 East Pakistan Tornado
In 1969 the city of Decca was part of East Pakistan, present day Bangladesh. On the 14th of April a tornado hit the densely populated area. That same day a separate tornado hit Homna Upazila, part of the Comila district in Chittagong. The two twisters were part of the same weather system.
2 Tri-State Tornado
According to the National Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration it was the worst tornado in United States history. On the 18th of March 1925 it crossed from southeastern Missouri, through southern Illinois & into southwestern Indiana, the Tri-State tornado left a 151 to 235 mile-long track, the longest ever recorded at that time. Although not officially recognized by the NOAA, most experts considered it an F5 tornado, the maximum damage rating available on the Fujita scale. It was the longest lasting tornado in world history as it carried on for nearly 3 & a half hours wreaking havoc over an area of 164 miles.
1 Daulatpur-Saturia Tornado
Widely regarded as the worst tornado in recorded history, the Daulatpur-Saturia tornado produced an estimated 1.5 million dollar worth of property damage. It occurred in the Manikganj District, in Bangladesh, on the 26th of April 1989. The tornadic conditions are believed to have been generated by a state of drought that had reportedly affected the area for six months. The cities of Daulatpur & Saturia were the most impacted by the tornado.

EXTRADITION: The Question of CITIZENSHIP in the WAR ON TERROR
As Theresa May adds amendments to the proposed Immigration Bill that would equip the Home Office with even more powers to strip Briton's of their citizenship, making them stateless, we are told by the government simply that citizenship is a privilege, not a right.
Britain continues to fortify its two-tiered system of citizenship: one for those of white British ancestry, and another for those who are naturalised or inherit dual citizenship through their foreign-born parents. As this event will highlight, it seems that the rights and protections of some UK citizens are more precarious than others.
There have already been 16 cases of citizenship stripping in the UK since 2010. In many of these cases, like those of Bilil al-Barjawi and Mohammed Sakr who both died in US drone strikes and Mahdi Hashi who ended up on trail in New York, the stripping of citizenship corresponds with US pursuit and action against them.
In Extradition: The Question of Citizenship in the War on Terror we bring together leading commentators and activists to discuss the UK's participation in the War on Terror by exploring citizen stripping, entrapment practices, the extradition of UK citizens for terrorist trails in the US, solitary confinement and preemptive prosecution in the US criminal justice system.
This is a 'JUST West Yorkshire' event, in collaboration with the Free Talha Ahsan Campaign, The White Spaces Network and hosted by Bradford Students' Union.
