Eqlid is a city and capital of Eqlid County, Fars Province, Iran. At the 2006 census, its population was 49,709, in 1,497 families.Eqlid is located 22 km west of the Expressway between Isfahan and Shiraz. The population of Eghlid is about 45,000 . It is located close to the mountain chain Zagros and is one of the highest elevations among Iran cities . It is also close to the desert city of Abarqu, making it a city in the border of high mountain and desert. It has a dry and cold weather, and some of its mountain peaks are covered by snow throughout the year. It is an agriculture city and its main products are wheat, barley, potato and fruits like grapes...

Naqsh-e Rustam is an ancient necropolis located about 12 km northwest of Persepolis, in Fars Province, Iran, with a group of ancient Iranian rock reliefs cut into the cliff, from both the Achaemenid and Sassanid periods. It lies a few hundred meters from Naqsh-e Rajab, with a further four Sassanid rock reliefs, three celebrating kings and one a high priest. Naqsh-e Rustam is the necropolis of the Achaemenid dynasty , with four large tombs cut high into the cliff face. These have mainly architectural decoration, but the facades include large panels over the doorways, each very similar in content, with figures of the king being invested by a god, above a zone with rows of smaller figures bearing tribute, with soldiers and officials. 4. Izad Khast Castle Izad Khast
The Izad Khast Castle is located in Izadkhast in the Fars Province, central Iran. The castle was built during the Sassanid Empire and functioned as fortified walled city on the ancient Silk Road that ran through central Iran. Izadkhast was the first castle in the world made from adobe. And it is the second largest adobe building in the world after Arg-e Bam.The castle is built on a high bedrock overlooking the Izadkhast valley. Inside the castle walls are many narrow alleyways and passages criss-crossing through centuries old tiny houses and buildings.The castle and surrounding Izadkhast complex has been nominated to the UNESCO World Heritage Tentative List on August 9, 2007 in the Cultural category.

OMG Trip 4: Iran - Golpaygan

Hi, yesterday we moved to town Golpaygan in Isfahan province which is 350km south from Tehran. Masood, our Iranian friend, invited us to his home to spend time with his familly and see some non touristic parts of Iran.
First time we also ate sweet lemon. Just cut out little hole on the top, squize and drink it.
In centre of Golpaygan town you can find minaret which is about 1000 years old and is 20m high. In past there were two type of door knockers, one for women and one for men and they knew who is coming.
Filip bought non - alcoholic beer, anyway you can´t find any alcohol in shops, it is forbidden.
Tea can´t be missing at any place. Everytime with us in car.
Masood´s mom prepeared for us delicious food...chicken with rice that was flavoured with red currants....traditional kebab from Golpaygan that they used to eat with fruit similar to lemon. They have ayran as well called DUK with mint.
In Golpaygan surroundings there is the oldest modern dam which was opened by Iranian king 70 years ago.
