Nightcaps is a town in the Southland region of New Zealand's South Island. According to the 2013 New Zealand census, its population is 294, consisting of 165 males and 132 females. This represents a decline of 15 people since the 2006 census. State Highway 96 passes through Nightcaps as it runs between Ohai and Winton. The town has a golf course and two primary schools that cater to students from Nightcaps, the surrounding rural area, and since the 2003 closure of its own school, Ohai.It has a community website, designed to give information to all new and existing members of the surrounding community. 1. Eglinton Valley Milford Sound
The Eglinton River is located in the region of Southland in the southwest of New Zealand. It flows through Fiordland National Park for 50 kilometres . Its headwaters are at Lake Gunn, 25 kilometres east of Milford Sound, and it flows generally south before entering Lake Te Anau along the lake's eastern shore opposite the entrance to North Fiord. For much of its length the Eglinton is accompanied by the only road in the region, State Highway 94 from Te Anau to Milford Sound. The southern end of the Milford Track is located close to the Eglinton River. The first Europeans to explore the river were David McKellar and George Gunn, in 1861. The river was named after Archibald Montgomerie, 13th Earl of Eglinton by James McKerrow, an Otago surveyor. The road which is now Highway 94 was built in 1...

Trans-Siberian train trip - 10 000 kilometers from Moscow to Beijing

Trans-Siperia on tunnustettu maailman pisimmäksi yksittäiseksi junaradaksi. Trans-Siperian päärata ulottuu 9288 kilometrin matkan Moskovasta Vladivostokiin ja junamatka kestää kokonaisuudessaan 6,5 vuorokautta. Trans-Siperia päärata haarautuu Ulan Uden kaupungissa, josta on mahdollista jatkaa Trans-Mongolian rataosuutta pitkin Mongolian halki aina Pekingiin saakka.

Rata on valmistunut 60 000 rakennusmiehen urakalla vuosina 1891–1916 ja sen rakentaminen on maksanut miltei miljardi jenkki taalaa.

Pääsimme vihdoin toteuttamaan tämän pitkäaikaisen haaveemme Trans-Siperialla matkustamisesta syyskuussa 2015, kun aloitimme elämämme pisimmän reissun, IKILOMAN, tällä maailmankuululla junamatkalla. Päädyimme valitsemaan Trans-Mongolia rataosuuden, koska halusimme nähdä Mongolian autiot arot ja Kiinan hektisen elämänrytmin.
