Havelock North is a suburb of Hastings, New Zealand, in the North Island's Hawke's Bay district. It was a borough for many years until the 1989 reorganisation of local government saw it merged into the new Hastings District, and it is now administered by the Hastings District Council. Areas within Havelock North include Anderson Park, Iona, Havelock North Central, Te Mata and Te Mata Hills, according to the census units of Statistics NZ.

    Te Mata Estate is a boutique New Zealand winery based in the Havelock Hills near Havelock North, 15km south of Napier in Hawke's Bay. Te Mata is New Zealand's oldest wine estate with the oldest winery cellars in the country. The winery's heritage-protected vineyard sites and barrel halls were set up in the 1890s, making them the oldest in continuous use anywhere in New Zealand. Established by the Chambers family initially, today Te Mata Estate is one of New Zealand's most highly regarded wineries and remains independent and family-owned.
