During my trip to South Africa I had the chance to spend over two weeks in the African bush. I visited five different safari camps, four were in Sabi Sands and the Klaserie Nature Reserve. The fifth one is located in the Gondwana Game Reserve. Here are the top 5 safari camps to visit in South Africa.
Umkumbe Safari Lodge is located just outside the iconic Kruger National Park, in the Sabi Sands Private Game Reserve. Umkumbe is considered to be one of the best wildlife viewing regions in all of South Africa. Their incredible lodge boasts 9 rooms offering guests comfort and luxury while still having the real “African” experience. Tanzania 2017 - 4K
This short film features some of the best moments, scenery and wildlife uncovered during a two-week, self-drive tour of North-Eastern Tanzania in June 2017.
Touring the area in an anti-clockwise road trip covering 2,500km, we experienced the coast, mountains, rainforest, savannah and saw numerous mammals, reptiles, birds, fish and insects.
Starting in Dar Es Salaam, we drove North along the Indian Ocean, before turning inland and heading North-West towards Arusha. Along the way we stopped off at the Amani Forest Reserve in the East Usambara Mountains, Irente Farm near Lushoto in the West Usambara Mountains, the Kiliman Coffee Plantation in the foothills of Kilimanjaro itself, the Maserani Snake Park outside Arusha before emerging at the Tarangire National Park for the most incredible 24-hours of observing some of Africa's largest and most iconic mammals in their natural habitat.
After this we stayed at the Panorama Safari Campsite on the Rift Valley Escarpment overlooking Lake Manyara National Park, before embarking on a long road trip South to the capital Dodoma, and then East via Morogoro back to Dar Es Salaam.
I'd like to thank all of the extraordinarily friendly campsite hosts, villagers and locals we met during the trip for their hospitality, as well as James Borrell and Jessica Plumb who invited me along on this leg of their sixth-month overlanding tour of Southern Africa.
All footage used in this film was shot on a GoPro Hero 5 Black camera utilising the GoPro Karma Drone and Grip (my first trip with this set-up and I'm delighted with the results!) and edited using Final Cut Pro X.

Felicia wanted to go to the beach. I wanted to go to Africa. Tanzania meets both requirements. On a map, Tanzania is on the East Coast of Africa south of the Equator. We wanted to relax and provide economic stimulation to the local economy, so we chilled on the beach, went shopping, and to restaurants.

Around 10km from Voi Gate, the lovely area of green known as Kanderi Swamp is home to a resident pride of lions, and elephants also congregate near here;

Ngulia Hills
Rising more than 600m above the valley floor and to a height of over 1800m above sea level, this jagged ridgeline ranks among the prettiest of all Tsavo landforms, providing as it does a backdrop to Rhino Valley.
Mwaluganje Elephant Sanctuary
This sanctuary is a good example of community-based conservation, with local people acting as stakeholders in the project.

The Coffee Garden offers diners five areas in which to enjoy its varied menu, including the plush L’Amour dining room, the historic 1901 Swedo House and the recommended main section,
Shimba Hills National Reserve
This park is among the easiest to visit in Kenya, within spitting distance of Diani Beach, with numerous driving routes and a couple of hiking trails.

Farm-to-table sustainable cuisine is more exciting when there are giraffes and hippos to spy on in the distance.
