Amherstview is a community in Loyalist Township, Ontario. It is located on the north shore of Lake Ontario and has a population of approximately 10,000. It is adjacent to the city of Kingston, and considered part of the greater Kingston area. Amherstview is named for Amherst Island, located directly to the south in Lake Ontario. When the community was first established in the 1950s, the spelling was generally Amherst View. The community is the eastern end of the Loyalist Parkway, a stretch of Highway 33 that travels along Lake Ontario, in an area in which many United Empire Loyalists settled. The National Air Force Museum of Canada, formerly known as the RCAF Memorial Museum, is an aviation museum dedicated to preserving the history of the Royal Canadian Air Force and is located on the west side of CFB Trenton in Trenton, Ontario.Opened April 1, 1984 on the 60th anniversary of the establishment of the RCAF, it is home to a large collection of RCAF aircraft and artifacts. 3. Bon Echo Provincial Park Cloyne
Bon Echo Provincial Park is a provincial park in southeastern Ontario north of Kaladar, approximately 6 kilometres north of Cloyne. Bon Echo features several lakes, including part of Mazinaw Lake, the seventh-deepest lake in Ontario. The southeastern shore of Mazinaw Lake features the massive 100 m high Mazinaw Rock, an escarpment rising out of the water, adorned with many native pictographs. The unofficial mascot of Bon Echo Park is the Ojibwe trickster figure and culture hero, Nanabozho, who is among the over 260 pictographs found in the area. Pictographs are often confused with petroglyphs, which are rock carvings rather than the rock paintings found on Mazinaw. The site of the Mazinaw pictographs was designated a National Historic Site of Canada in 1982.

The park area was formed when a limestone island was connected to the mainland by a sand spit; this kind of formation is referred to as a tombolo.

Waupoos is a community in Prince Edward County, Ontario, Canada. Situated on Smith Bay on Lake Ontario, Waupoos is in the centre of the county's cider and wine industry. Located about 13 km from Picton, it is set among apple orchards, wineries, local farms and forested hills. During and after the American Revolution, Waupoos served as a point of resettlement for American United Empire Loyalists. Prior to European settlement, Waupoos was inhabited by Tyendinaga Mohawks, who created a burial ground on Waupoos Island. The Conrad David house, a historically designated property on which Sir John A. MacDonald once held the mortgage, now houses the County Cider Company. The Waupoos Estate Winery also makes its home in the hamlet of Waupoos.

Some call Elora, Ontario The Most Beautiful Village In Canada...they could be lying but it's definitely really nice. I went on a quick trip with Fel and Wes from Feather and the Wind to check out the Elora Gorge and the surrounding area. I also decided to try a different method of documenting my trip...a more pretentious one ;)

OLD FORT HENRY KINGSTON ONTARIO AUG. 9th 2011 MUSICAL BAND

The weatherman got it all wrong and it turned out to be a rainy day after all. The Gore St. Flea Market inb Perth Ontario day trip to Kingston Ontario to visit Old Fort Henry.

Due to rain, the daily 3pm ceramony was called off, but the musical band was able to play a couple of tunes on the upper deck of the fort.

Old Fort Henry was built in 1823 to protect the Rideau Canal System. The Fort can look over New York State, The St. Lawerence River, The Rideau River and down town Kingston.

An x-lent day trip.
