20 Things to do in Chiang Mai, Thailand Travel Guide Video Transcript:
Today we’re taking you around a city that we’ve been to many times before: Chiang Mai. Located in the heart of Northern Thailand, Chiang Mai is a growing city with laid back vibes, temples sprinkled around every corner, and a foodie scene that will make you drool. This is a destination where you come to unwind and that’s exactly what we did during our month long visit. Now let’s get started with this tour of Chiang Mai (清邁) so you can see what this city is all about:
One of the best things you can do in Chiang Mai is ditch the map and get lost inside the old city. It’s along the quiet back lanes that you’ll find cozy cafes, terracotta gardens, unvisited temples, and a little flavour of the old Chiang Mai.
As you’ve probably figured out, we’re not really into nightlife, but Chiang Mai does have lots of bars where you can enjoy a drink or two. We kept things light with a Chang beer.
And that’s a wrap for our visit to Chiang Mai, Thailand. We hope this video gave you a little taste of what this city is all about. We’ll be the first to tell you that we barely scratched the surface in terms of everything Chiang Mai (清迈) has to offer, but that being said, the goal of our time here was to relax, eat well, see friends, and catch up on work. As always, if you have any other suggestions of things to do, places to visit, and restaurants to eat at, feel free to share those with fellow travellers in the comments below. Until next time!
This is part of our Travel in Thailand video series showcasing Thai food, Thai culture and Thai cuisine.

Thai Street Food in Bangkok - MOST POPULAR LUNCH Noodles in Downtown Silom, Thailand!
Thai street food lunch tour in Silom, Bangkok!
I met up with my friend Drew Binsky (check out his YouTube channel: and Facebook: to go on a lunch-rush street food tour of Silom.
Silom is one of the main financial business districts of Bangkok, it’s a downtown of Bangkok. Everyday at lunch floods of people from their offices come down for lunch and enjoy delicious street food. What I love so much about Silom is because it has such a vibrant and busy lunchtime rush, and that’s part of the fun.
We arrived a little early, to get a couple lunches in before the main lunch. The highlight of this Thai street food tour for me was Kuay Teow Khae (ก๋วยเตี๋ยวแคะ (โคตร โคตร) คอนแวนต์), one of the most popular lunch noodles shops in Bangkok!
Ok, here’s all the food we ate in this tour:
Khao Man Gai Ban Deed Kim (ข้าวมันไก่บัญฑิตคิม) - If you’ve ever gotten off the BTS at Sala Daeng station and walked down Soi Convent, you’ve probably walked right by this stall. And I’ve walked past it hundreds of times, but this was actually my first time to stop and eat there. They are well known in Bangkok for their khao man gai (ข้าวมันไก่), Thai style Hainanese chicken and rice. We each ordered a plate to get things started. Overall, very good, light fluffy rice with just the right amount if chicken oil, bouncy chicken, and fermented soybean sauce.
Price - 50 THB ($1.52)
Yee Jay (ยีเจ ก๋วยเตี๋ยวเนื้อตุ๋น-หมูตุ๋น) - Next we took a little walk through Silom, Downtown Bangkok, to another popular beef noodle shop. Again, it was my first time to eat here. We arrived before the main lunch rush, but at 11 am they were already preparing for the crowds with big amounts of meat waiting to be served. We had bowls of everything (เกาเหลาทุกอย่าง), including organs and braised beef. Their soup was fragrant with Chinese spices and the aroma of beef. It’s not the best bowl of braised beef soup in Bangkok, but it’s decent.
Price - 70 THB ($2.14)
Kuay Teow Khae (ก๋วยเตี๋ยวแคะ (โคตร โคตร) คอนแวนต์) - Finally for the main lunch, we went to one of the most popular Thai street food noodle stalls in Silom. For lunch everyday they are packed, every single seat, and if you arrive at a time like when we did, you have to wait to get a seat - sometimes 30 minutes or more. They have a few different options, but we all ordered their signature special bowl (เส้นโซบะยำแห้ง), including egg noodles topped with everything. This is one of the better single bowls of noodles in Bangkok in my opinion.
Price - 60 THB ($1.83)
Khanom Tokyo (ขนมโตเกียว (ลุงโตเกียว) - Lastly, to end this Thai street food tour in Bangkok, we were just walking past with Uncle Tokyo called us over to try his snacks. He makes both savory (with a hot dog) and sweet versions, filled with a variety of different custards. Drew and I had to try the hot dog, mostly just for fun… I’ll be honest, not a big fan of Thai hot dogs, but the sweet ones were great. And Uncle Tokyo is such a nice friendly man. If you are on Soi Convent in Silom around lunchtime, go say hi to him!
Price - 4 for 10 THB ($0.30)
And that completes this Thai street food tour in Silom, hope you enjoyed it!

TOKYO CAPSULE HOTEL TOUR
It's our first night in Japan ever and we're staying at a CAPSULE HOTEL! The futuristic design gave me galaxy vibes. It felt like we were inside a spaceship floating among the stars.
The pods turned out to be more spacious than expected. I did not get claustrophobic, but everyone's level of comfort varies in enclosed spaces. How about the rest of the experience? Watch the full video to see the detailed tour!

Top 5 Thai STREET FOOD Noodle Dishes to Try in Bangkok, Thailand - with Mike Chen!
Join Mike Chen and I as we discover 5 Thai food noodle dishes!

Mike and I decided to go on a Thai street food noodles tour, where we tried 5 different types of Thai street food noodle dishes in one day. Mike was in Bangkok visiting from New York, and we got along very well - both of us are food lovers, and both of us are a little obsessed with spice.
Here are the restaurants where we ate in the Thai street food noodle tour of Bangkok.
1. Wattana Panich (วัฒนาพานิช) - This place is legendary for serving braised beef noodles, and most importantly for their giant everlasting cauldron of simmering meat that never stops. Their classic bowl of beef noodles is a little expensive due to the area and fame, but it’s so good. If you’re more adventurous you can also try their Soup Number 5, and the goat soup which is outstanding.
Kuay teow neua tukyang (ก๋วยเตี๋ยวเนื้อทุกอย่าง beef noodles with everything)
Soup number 5 (ตัวเดียวอันเดียวแพะ bull penis soup)
Sup peh (ซุปแพะ braised goat soup)
Total price - 765 THB ($22.01)
2. Nay Lao Radna Yodpak (นายเหลา ราดหน้ายอดผัก) - At this little restaurant you’ll find one of the best versions of Thai pad see ew in all of Bangkok. It’s smoky, full of flavor, and the egg makes it incredible.
Pad see ew sen yai (ผัดซีอิ๊วเส้นใหญ่)
Pad see ew sen mee paem kai jeow (ผัดซีอิ๊วเส้นหมี่เพิ่มไข่เจียว)
Sen yai radna (เส้นใหญ่ราดหน้า)
5 bowls of noodles - 275 THB ($7.91)
3. Kuay Teow Reua Khon Mee Sen (ก๋วยเตี๋ยวเรือคนมีเส้น) - Boat noodles are probably one of the most locally popular Thai street food noodle of choice in Bangkok. We went to a place that’s a little far out, but it was pretty good. There are also many places to eat boat noodles within Bangkok.
Kuay teow reua nam tok moo (ก๋วยเตี๋ยวเรือน้ำตกหมู)
แคปหมู
Price - 10 THB ($0.29) per bowl
4. Uan Bamee Giew Guangdong (อ้วน บะหมี่เกี๊ยว (กวางตุ้ง) - For years now, this has been one of my personal favorite Thai street food stalls in Bangkok for Thai Chinese egg noodles.
Bamee giew moo daeng haeng (บะหมี่เกี๊ยวหมูแดงแห้ง)
Price - 40 THB ($1.15) per bowl
5. Pad Thai Je Tim (ผัดไทยเจ๊ติ๋ม) - To be honest, we sort of just ran out of time, and needed to take the baby home to sleep, so we weren’t able to eat a better version of Pad Thai. This place was pretty average, but it finished off our 5 Thai noodles tour of Bangkok. For a better Pad Thai, I'd recommend:
Pad Thai goong sod (ผัดไทยกุ้งสด)
Pad Thai haw kai (ผัดไทยห่อไข่)
Total price - 95 THB ($2.73)
Thank you for watching, hope you enjoyed this Thai street food noodles tour of Bangkok!
