Our drive to Warrnambool through Great Ocean. Warrnambool is a city along the Great Ocean Road, in Victoria, Australia. Its main beach, the sandy Bathing Beach, runs in front of vast Lake Pertobe Adventure Par.
A popular legend is that the first Europeans to discover Warrnambool were Cristóvão de Mendonça and his crew who surveyed the coastline nearby and were marooned near the site of the present town as early as the 16th century, based on the unverified reports of local whaler's discovery of the wreck of a mahogany ship.

Bribie Island National Park.
Bribie Island is 34km long and 8km wide, The island is host to numerous lagoons, 55.8km2 national park, various camping areas & a lot of native wildlife, Eagles, Kangaroos, Wallabies, Lace monitors & much much more.
Bribie Island also has a rich history, its original name being Yarun, meaning hunting ground in the native Djindubari language. Bribie island was later named, Bribe, after a convict and the first European to live on Bribie island.
The WWII Forts of Fort Bribie are a must-see, these Forts were built in the early 1940s as part of the Brisbane line to help defend Brisbane against possible Japanese invasion.
