World Travel Guide
We came back delighted with this trip organized in 6 stages (Ubud, Munduk, Pemuteran, Kintamani, Bangli and Jimbaran). The kindness and charm of the Balinese, the beauty of the rice fields (Ceking, Jatiluwih) and natural sites (Sangeh Forest, Menjangan Island, Sekumpul waterfalls, Bangli countryside) and the authenticity of the ceremonies in the temples of Ulundanu Batur and Goa Lawah who lived up to this exceptional trip.
Thanks to the local Indonesia office in Liberty, especially in Febri and Surata.

Bali - Temples, Indonesia - Travel Around The World | Top best places to visit in Bali
Top best places to visit in Bali
Bali is a beautiful Indonesian island surrounded by the Indian Ocean, coral reefs and sandy beaches.
Bali is known for its nature, forested volcanic mountains, rice paddies and incredible Hindu temples.
In the village of Besakih, on the slopes of Mount Agung is the most important, largest and holiest temple of Hindu religion in Bali, Pura Besakih the “mother temple”.
It is an extensive complex of 23 separate but related temples with the largest and most important Pura Penataran Agung.
Gunung Agung is a stratovolcano and the highest point on the island. Its last eruption was in 1964 and is still active, with a large and very deep crater. Despite this at the foot of the mountain there are many prayers, and about seventy festivals every year.
Another very important temple is Pura Ulun Danu Bratan.
The temple was built in the 17th-century in worship of the main Hindu trinity, Brahma-Vishnu-Shiva, as well as the lake goddess, Devi Danu.
The complex is located on the shores of Lake Bratan in the mountains near Bedugul. The lake is known as the Lake of Holy Mountain and is located 1200m above sea level. It is also the ultimate source of water for the rivers that irrigate central Bali.
Located on a rock, just offshore, is one of the most important temples and favorite tourism destinations in Bali, Pura Tanah Lot.
Tanah Lot means the small island floating on the sea. It was built in 16th-century to worship the god in form of Bhatara Segara, the sea power.
One of the most scenic temples Pura Luhur Uluwatu is built at the edge of a 70m high cliff.
The cliff is fascinating but the temple itself is not as impressive as others and you have to keep very close grip on all your belongings, especially cameras and eyeglasses, because there are many small thieves.
There are countless Hindu temples in Bali. In every city you find some more or less important sacred places. Pura Tirta Empul is famous for its holy spring water, where Hindus go to for ritual purification. The temple pond has a spring which gives out fresh water regularly.
Tirta Empul means ‘Holy Spring’ in Balinese.
Hidden in the jungle and between rice fields is the magnificent and surprisingly unpopular 11th-century temple Candi Gunung Kawi.
It comprises 10 rock-cut candi that are carved into 7m high sheltered niches.
Another interesting temple Goa Gajah, or Elephant Cave, is located near Ubud. Built in the 9th-century, it served as a sanctuary.
When you’re in Ubud don’t miss Pura Taman Saraswati, home to water pond where lotus flowers flourish. It is also home to the famous Kecak dance.
One of the favorite places of interest in Bali is Pura Goa Lawah or the Bat Cave Temple.
This natural cave is home to thousands of bats.
Last but not least is temple generally regarded as one of the most attractive. Pura Taman Ayun literally translates as ‘Beautiful Garden’ temple.
Temple is bordered by broad canals and can only be entered via bridge leading to richly ornamented gate.

Places to visit in Bali and best time to visit Bali to enjoy Bali tours
Bali, the famed Island of the Gods, with its varied landscape of hills and mountains, rugged coastlines and sandy beaches, lush rice terraces and barren volcanic hillsides all providing a picturesque backdrop to its colourful, deeply spiritual and unique culture, stakes a serious claim to be paradise on earth. With world-class surfing and diving, a large number of cultural, historical and archaeological attractions, and an enormous range of accommodations, this is one of the world's most popular island destinations and one which consistently wins travel awards. Bali has something to offer a very broad market of visitors from young back-packers right through to the super-rich.
Bali is one of more than 17,000 islands in the Indonesian archipelago and is located just over 2 kilometres (almost 1.5 miles) from the eastern tip of the island of Java and west of the island of Lombok. The island, home to about 4 million people, is approximately 144 kilometres (90 mi.) from east to west and 80 kilometres (50 mi.) north to south.
The word paradise is used a lot in Bali and not without reason. The combination of friendly, hospitable people, a magnificently visual culture infused with spirituality and (not least) spectacular beaches with great surfing and diving have made Bali Indonesia's unrivaled number one tourist attraction. Eighty percent of international visitors to Indonesia visit Bali and Bali alone.
Regions of Bali :
South Bali (Kuta, Bukit Peninsula, Canggu, Denpasar, Jimbaran, Legian, Nusa Dua, Sanur, Seminyak, Tanah Lot) The most visited part of the island by far, with Kuta Beach and chic Seminyak.
Central Bali (Ubud, Bedugul, Tabanan) The cultural heart of Bali and the central mountain range.
West Bali (Negara, Gilimanuk, Medewi Beach, Pemuteran, West Bali National Park) Ferries to Java and the West Bali National Park.
North Bali (Lovina, Singaraja)Quiet black sand beaches and the old capital city.
East Bali (Amed, Besakih, Candidasa, Kintamani, Klungkung, Mount Agung, Padang Bai, Tirta Gangga) Laid back coastal villages, an active volcano and the mighty Mount Agung.
Southeastern Islands (Nusa Lembongan, Nusa Penida, Nusa Ceningan) Quiet offshore islands in the southeast, popular for diving activities.
Daytime temperatures are pleasant, varying between 20-33⁰ C (68-93⁰ F) year-round. From December to March, the west monsoon can bring heavy showers and high humidity, but days are still often sunny with the rains starting in the late afternoon or evening and passing quickly. From June to September, the humidity is low and it can be quite cool in the evenings. At this time of the year there is hardly any rain in the lowland coastal areas.

SCUBA FAIL IN BALI! Pemuteran - Indonesia
Part 2 of our month long trip to Indonesia during 2016.
This video shows us taking the ferry from Java to Bali spending a few days scuba diving in the north west coast of Bali - at and around Pemuteran & Menjangan Island.
We prefer not to use any organised tours and travel independently where possible. We usually have a solid plan on where to go but the itinerary is never fixed and we take it a day or so at a time.
Please keep in mind that when I shot the footage the plan was never to make a YouTube video but I figured that perhaps this is a good start to get into it.
Sometime towards the end of 2018 we plan to start travelling full-time and will thus be working towards regular uploads and would focus on providing more useful content to viewers on how to travel independently - as well as share our adventures! Hopefully by then our equipment will be a bit better - everything in this video was shot with compacts and a GoPro.
The story goes like this: Our travels (stretching well over 10 years) have been haphazardly documented thus far with some still only living on our old blog (which haven’t seen much use in a long time). Slowly we’ve moved to video but as yet most of our compilations was never made with public viewing in mind..
We hope to use this channel to dust off and bring some of our old travel videos to a wider audience over time. Thanks for joining us on our adventure!
The best of Indonesia? The UNSPOILED Bali
Today we were ATTACKED by MONKEYS while exploring Senaru, in northern Lombok, Indonesia! We woke up bright and early to watch one of the craziest sunrises we've ever seen. The sun rose right over a massive field of rice terraces, leaving incredible reflections. We walked only 5 more minutes up the road to reach the entrance of Sendang Gile and Tiu Kelep Waterfalls.
Lombok is known as the unspoiled Bali because there is muuuuuuch less tourism than the neighboring island of Bali, but it contains just as much beauty, if not more!! We've loved our time in Lombok so far and still have so much more to explore :)
Please support our journey by LIKING and SUBSCRIBING!!
You can also keep up with our adventures on Instagram :)
