Blanchisseuse is a village in Trinidad and Tobago. It is located about midway along the north coast of Trinidad on the northern slope of the Northern Range, about 24 km north of Arima. The village was settled by the French following the Cedula of Population in 1783. When Captain Frederick Mallet was charting and surveying the island of Trinidad following its capitulation to the British in 1797, he was told that the village had no name. Observing the women washing clothes in the river, he simply wrote on his survey chart: Ladies River. Chaguaramas lies in the North West Peninsula of Trinidad west of Port of Spain; the name is often applied to the entire peninsula, but is sometimes used to refer to its most developed area. The developed area in Chaguaramas starts at ALCOA and ends at the Army and Coast Guard camps on the mainland. In the description or context of developed area one excludes the five islands which are in various stages of development or redevelopment as of 2016. However in the information below, some data is included on the Five Islands Most of the roadway in Chaguaramas lies close to the coast line and one can view the sea from the winding road. According to Google Maps, Chaguaramas is about fourteen kilometres from Port of Spain.

BEACHES IN TRINIDAD (Part 1)

We drove along the Eastern side of the Island of Trinidad and made some stops at some Beaches in Trinidad. We visited the Manzanilla Beach, Nariva River, Indian Bay in Mayaro and a beach in Galeota.
Ps: I apologise for pronouncing Galeota incorrectly! Not one of my proud moments.

This Trip took us approximately 6 hours from Curepe which includes filming and about 1/4 tank of gas! We spent most of the time in the car but the ride was enjoyable and view was amazing. Make sure to walk with snacks and maybe a cushion for when your butt gets numb!
