North Coast, Egypt; Longest Mediterranean Coastline
North Coast, Egypt - Egypt travel places we will help you know more about and get all the fun in the world!
North Coast is the summer destination place for all the Egyptian people, which is famously known as Al Sahel or the coast and which in Arabic is الساحل الشمالي, because of the good weather during this season, unlike the weather one will receive along the red sea, which is usually hot to a great extent and only starts to get better by October or just in the Spring phase of the year.
North Coast in Egypt is among the Mediterranean sea and it is not far away from Alexandria, you could even plan to go to Alexandria when you are in the North Coast for a one day trip by the car. It is all about enjoying the good weather, the beach, and there are a few places that you could enjoy during the night - a good nightlife for those who enjoy such an atmosphere.
North Coast resorts are numerous and this goes back to how long this place is; it extends for about 1,050 km along the Mediterranean sea from the eastern side of Sinai Peninsula at the Egypt-Gaza border to the western village of Sallum at Egypt-Libya border.
We recommend that you go to the North Coast during summer only because otherwise the weather will be very cold and wet. It is not that hot in summer, but still you will manage to enjoy a better stay than heading to the Red Sea.
Good news is, the north coast is considered one of the longest Mediterranean coastlines in North Africa; so you are not just going to enjoy a dip in the sea, but you will be also visiting one of the spotted coastlines in the world.
There are different hotels and resorts in north coast which you could manage to rent in; hotels will of course offer you rooms with breakfast and dinner or lunch, while the resorts will be more about renting a chalet or a small apartment from the owner and you will be responsible to bring your own food and stuff.
There are different activities you could do in the north coast in addition to swimming which will be related to playing sports enjoying any of the workout sessions provided by some fitness centers there, as well as enjoying the nightlife of this place which is all about the night walks, the dancing, or enjoying a restaurant with friends or family members.
There is nothing historical related to this place, all you will do is swim and enjoy the night breeze. Those staying in the north coast for a couple of days might complete the journey to Marsa Matrouh in which they will be amazed with the clear blue color of the sea.
North coast map is important because it is so long and you might move from one city, town or village to another without even realizing that. The most famous ones are Marsa Matrouh, Al Alamein, Marina, Sidi Kreir, Borg Al Arab, and Alexandria.
It is important to book early because this place is so much crowded in summer that you will find the prices very high and you might never be able to afford them.
This is the place for most of the Egyptian families since they own their personal apartments there and thus go for months to stay the whole summer away from the capital and its hassle. This gives friends the chance to meet there as well and enjoy their summer together while playing by the beach.
Some people consider the Mediterranean sea not as interesting as the red one because the waves are so high that they find it difficult to swim. Always take care because sometimes the sea might pull you and you will never be able to come out easily, so keep watching out and never try to go deep if the waves are too high.
It is preferred that you rent a car while traveling to the north coast because the transportation there is not that easy since the villages there are all on the highway, or else you could manage to use Uber, which is provided at this area, or if you are not planning to go out, at least make sure that you are booking in a village where you could do any kind of activity or sit in an cafe in case you got bored by night and didn't know what you should do.
There are different places to visit in Egypt in general but getting out of Cairo, the capital, should be always on your plan to give yourself the chance to see more of this country and go back home with different stories. If you are thinking about a good place with a good weather and beach then North Coast Egypt is definitely a place to think about.
Being in the North Coast could give you the chance to make some touristic trips to Alexandria and see some of the museums and citadels there.
You could go and see Qaitbay citadel
You could check the Aquarium museum in Alexandria as well
And you could also see the hidden gems of Alexandria in general
Qaitbay Citadel, Alexandria, Egypt - Egypt Tourism
Qaitbay Citadel, Alexandria, Egypt - Travel to Egypt and let Connolly Cove give you the right plans to follow.
There are different cities in Egypt, some are worth the visit and some could be placed later in the list. Alexandria, Egypt, is considered the largest city in Egypt coming directly after Cairo and this pretty much sums up why you should place it on your plan list.
There are different things to do in Alexandria, Egypt, which are divided between historical places to visit as well as those walks which you should go through the streets and by the sea; you will enjoy the good breeze, believe us.
Your next trip to Egypt should include visiting the city of Alexandria and getting the chance to see Qaitbay Citadel which will also give you the chance to enjoy a good view of the sea with a weather you have never witnessed before.
Being one of the historical places to visit in Egypt, we have to mention that Qaitbay Citadel of Alexandria is now in the same place where the lighthouse of Alexandria used to be but which was destroyed by several earthquakes that took the whole thing down after being one of the seven wonders of the world.
The history of Qaitbay Citadel is long since different characters helped in its existence; starting from building the citadel and ending with the renovations that were done to the whole place until the 20th century to become what we are seeing at this very moment.
The best thing about Qaitbay Citadel of Alexandria is that you will enjoy the idea of seeing the actual real place from where the archers stood in the old days in order to defend Alexandria. The structure of the whole place is actually what will take the breath away; you will have to pay attention to the inside as well as the ceiling of the whole area.
On the way to the citadel, within 2 minutes walk, there is an aquarium museum which carries different species and which will be mostly liked by the kids; will not take longer then 20 minutes in it, and just in front of the citadel entrance, there is another museum for fossilized creatures including the skeleton of a whale.
Planning a trip to this place should be on the list, but you should never spend more than a few hours there and pass by these other two museums in the same day in order not to keep coming back to the same area and lose time instead of seeing other parts and historical areas of Alexandria.
Qaitbay citadel Alexandria is placed in the most visible location of Alexandria city, making it an attraction for those who want to see the best out of this place.
Qaitbay citadel opening hours are from 8 AM till 5 PM everyday and that is the reason why it is always considered better to go in the evening where the weather will be always better and it won't be much crowded.
The plus point for those visiting Egypt from around the world is that the prices are considered low for them at this point and thus they could get the chance to visit different places and do several things without having a lot of money. Qaitbay citadel entrance fees for the Egyptians is about 15 EGP and a little bit more for the non-Egyptians which might reach now 35 EGP.
This 15th century defensive fortress is located in As Sayalah Sharq, Qesm Al Gomrok, Alexandria Governorate. You could spend the whole day walking inside and outside of this castle and you could even sit there where you will be considered sitting on the sea, but it is considered better to watch out and make sure you are not wasting the whole day sitting there.
There are different fish restaurants there where you could have a proper and delicious meal and enjoy the Egyptian way of cooking it. You could also rent a boat - and you could bargain about the price - but always make sure that life vests are there and make sure that you are feeling safe with that person who will be with you on the boat.
There are a lot of things to do in Alexandria and with the good weather of this city, you will definitely enjoy every single detail of your trip, you just have to take the needed precautions and make sure you are bargaining whenever needed in order not to get easily robbed - because that's how people manage to get things done there.
Qaitbay Citadel is among the old places to visit in Egypt which will get you out of Cairo and let you see something that is not related to the capital city.
