A traditional compound 50 miles inland (please read description) The Gambia
We wanted to film how the average Gambian family lives inland. This video isn’t meant to exploit them or embarrass them. It is also NOT a staged video, we were passing the compound and I decided to stop and give them some rice. We turned up randomly and a few minutes later made this video. It was to show the average tourist how much of the country lives, away from the coastal areas and to be aware of the poverty that many people face while the average tourist basks in luxury and comfort. In exchange for them allowing us to see how they live, we thanked them with 50 kilos of rice and some biscuits which they were very happy with.
