1. Mitchelstown CaveBurncourt Mitchelstown Cave is a limestone cave near Burncourt, County Tipperary, Ireland. Situated 12 kilometres from Mitchelstown, County Cork, it became the first cave in Ireland to be developed for the public in 1972.The cave is located in the townland of Coolagarranroe, off the R639 between Mitchelstown and Cahir. It is a privately owned local landmark and tourist destination, with a number of caverns open to the public through a guided tour. Noteworthy speleothems include the Tower of Babel column. Kilkenny Castle ist das bekannteste Gebäude Irlands. Die Butler Familie kaufte das Schloss im Jahre 1391 und lebte dort bis 1935. Das Objekt wurde im Jahre 1967 an die Irische Nation übergeben. Gärten und Parks um das Schloss, sind für die Öffentlichkeit zugänglich. In der ältesten Gaststätte der Stadt machen wir eine kurze Unterbrechung. Diese trägt immerfort den Namen der ersten Wirtin, Alice Kyteler, die im vierzehnten Jahrhundert vermeintlich vier Ehemänner ermordete. In der Bevölkerung war sie als eine Hexe verschrien. Die Marienkathedrale von Kilkenny wurde im neugotischen Stil unter Verwendung von grauem Kalkstein erbaut. Den markanten hohen Turm sieht man von der Burg aus. Trotzdem verheerenden Hungersnot in Irland wurde die Kathedrale erbaut und am 4.Oktober 1857 eingeweiht.
