Welcome to Cape Town! I consider this to be one of the most beautiful cities in Africa. For the next couple of days, I am going to be exploring the city, it’s surroundings and showing you the must dos!
First stop is Downtown Cape Town. This is Greenmarket square the biggest and first market in Cape Town. Here you can find all types of souvenirs. What I am looking for today are elephant hair bracelets.
Greenmarket square is an authentic African market where artist and traders come to sell their arts, fabrics, sculptures and bead work.
Next we head to the artsy district of Woodstock. Throughout the district you can see street art everywhere!
Now for the most iconic site in Cape Town. We made it to the top of Table Mountain the iconic landmark of Cape Town. It’s a flat top mountain and there are two ways to get to the top.
Table Mountain has been proclaimed one of the new seven natural wonders of the world! And they say from up here you get one of the most epic views in Africa.
Table Mountain is considered to be of the world’s most beautiful natural wonders. It is also South Africa’s most photographed attraction. If you’re feeling adventurous, it’s even possible to rappel down the mountain.
Over 800,000 people visit the mountain each year! If you’re planning a visit, remember that the mountain is sometimes overcast, so if you arrive on a clear day, take the opportunity!
An interesting fact about Table Mountain is that it dates back 600,000,000 years making it one of the oldest mountains in the world! Now lets go down to the next mountain.
Lions Head is a 2,200 foot mountain in between Table Mountain and the Atlantic Ocean. It takes around 90 minutes and they say the views from up there are incredible, now lets start our hike!
Like I said, there is only one way up and its by hiking so remember to wear sneakers and bring lots of water! From the top of Lions Head you will get some of the best views in Cape Town. Remember to take pictures of people sitting on the edges of the rock!
We are here with Cape Town Helicopters and we are about to take a 15 minute ride at 2500 ft! Now lets hit the sky for an even better view. Cape Town is known for its dramatic coastline and there’s is no better way to see it than from the sky!
If you’re looking for an epic sunset, then I recommend you head to Bakoven beach. This was once a small fishing village and from here you can get an incredible sunset from the rocks.
One of the best hotels on the water is Tintswalo Atlantic. This is one of the most unique properties I have ever stayed at. They have 10 rooms and a presidential suite, you cant get closer to the water I guarantee it!
Here are a few day trip options from Cape Town, just a 45-minute drive south. We have arrived at Boulders Beach home to the youngest African penguin colony.
This is one of few places in the world where you can see penguins up close. They have been wandering freely here since 1982, and the colony currently has more then 3,000 members. The boulders after which the beach is names date back over 540 million years!
Now let’s head down to Cape Point! Welcome to Cape Point, the southwestern most point of Africa. It’s located only a one hour drive south from Cape Town and you have to see it.
Cape Point is located within Table Mountain National Park in a section referred to as ‘Cape of Good Hope.’ This area of the park is wild and unspoiled – a very important haven for seabirds.
I left the best for last! Most people shudder at the thought of great white sharks that live in the waters off Cape Town, but we decided to be more adventurous and dive in and take a swim with their favorite prey, sea lions!
Animal Ocean offers adventure seekers the rare chance to get up close and personal with these beautiful animals. We departed from Houts Bay, to a nearby island that’s a bit shallow for the sharks.
After the Wetsuit is on, we dive in! The water was freezing and a bit murky, but the seals aren’t shy at all. They’re playful and graceful. Truly an unforgettable experience!

Cape Town sits on South Africa’s Cape Peninsula, where the waters of the Atlantic and Indian Oceans converge.
Begin your adventure at The Castle of Good Hope, the centerpoint from which the city grew. Nearby you’ll find Company’s Garden, the Parliament Building, and the South African Museum.
Don’t miss the District Six Museum, which gives voice to the 60,000 non-white residents who saw their vibrant multi-racial neighborhood flattened during the darkest days of the Apartheid era.
One neighborhood that was spared from apartheid’s wrecking ball is Bo-Kaap, where traditional Cape Malay culture continues amid the row houses of this colorful hillside suburb.
Visit the Victoria and Alfred Waterfront, and explore attractions such as Two Oceans Aquarium. The waterfront is also the gateway to one of the world’s most infamous prisons, Robben Island.
Table Mountain is Cape Town’s most beloved landmark. From the Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens, take a walking trail up the mountain, or take the Cableway for the spectacular ride to the viewing area.
Cape Town is one of the world’s great beach cities. From Green Point, the site of Cape Town’s futuristic stadium, follow the coast and discover one incredible beach after another.
Cape Town’s riches don’t end with its beaches, it’s also blessed with some of the best wine country in the world. After touring the acclaimed wineries of Paarl and Stellenbosch, head up Franschhoek Pass and wander hillsides filled with Proteas.
In local tradition, the Protea represents transformation, courage and hope. Cape Town is a city which shares the same soil, so it’s not surprising that it embodies those same qualities too.

During my trip to South Africa I had the chance to spend over two weeks in the African bush. I visited five different safari camps, four were in Sabi Sands and the Klaserie Nature Reserve. The fifth one is located in the Gondwana Game Reserve. Here are the top 5 safari camps to visit in South Africa.
Umkumbe Safari Lodge is located just outside the iconic Kruger National Park, in the Sabi Sands Private Game Reserve. Umkumbe is considered to be one of the best wildlife viewing regions in all of South Africa. Their incredible lodge boasts 9 rooms offering guests comfort and luxury while still having the real “African” experience. Enjoy air-conditioning, indoor/outdoor bathrooms, full mosquito netting in all rooms, a pool, fitness center and a number of other amenities, plus some amazing outdoor dining and lounge areas with stunning views of the surrounding wildlife.
Africa on Foot in the Klaserie Private Nature Reserve just outside of Kruger National Park. A 5-room stay, this boutique camp can accommodate up to 14 people with some excellent living quarters and incredible daily excursions. Africa on Foot can accommodate all sorts of travelers, including families with young children. Private, specialized walks are available for those who might be too young to enjoy the normal, scheduled walks and drives. One the coolest and most unique outdoor packages, book a stay at Africa on Foot the next time you’re in South Africa for an experience that you’ll never forget!
nDutzi Safari Camp inside the Klaserie Game Reserve is a small four-room (8 person maximum) safari camp, this memorable stay provides guests an intimate safari experience in an untouched corner of the greater Kruger National Park. Comfortable, personalized rooms and a relaxed lodging atmosphere are balanced by a vast & wild private reserve, where guests can spot some of Africa’s most incredible wildlife. For travelers looking to have a nearly private safari experience in an intimate setting, a stay at the nDutzai Safari Camp in Klaserie Game Reserve is an absolute must!
nThambo Tree Camp in the Klaserie Private Nature Reserve, an area situated in the heart of the Kruger National Park. The location provides Big Five safaris and walking safaris, offering guests the chance to admire hippos, giraffes, zebras and a variety of birds. nThambo Tree Camp prefers to have an open camp to allow animals to pass through unlike other parks that fence animals out. Their mission is to bring people closer to nature, which is why it isn't a mere a hotel in the bush, but rather a way to have an authentic bush experience.
Kwena Lodge inside the Gondwana Game Reserve is only 4 hours from Cape Town and a half hour from Mossel Bay, this conveniently located 11,000-hectare reserve is a fantastic place to catch some of the region’s most iconic animals. Kwena Lodge can accommodate all sorts of travelers with their 13 huts (suitable for two) and 13 villas (four to eight people), so no matter what size of group visiting, there’s bound to be room for all.
For those looking to go on safari, Kwena offers game drives (where everything from the Big 5 to Endangered Black Rhinos & Cape Mountain Zebras can be spotted) as well as game walks and junior ranger programs (perfect for children.) With a moderate climate for most of the year, beaches, shark cage diving and other big attractions just nearby, Kwena Lodge/Gondwana Game Reserve is an unforgettable experience and convenient stop off for anyone traveling through South Africa.
We hope you enjoyed the top 5 safari camps to visit in South Africa!

Cape Town , South Africa ( Cost of Living - Tourist Edition)
Cape Town, South Africa - The Tourist Guide to the City.
Downloadable guide coming soon, I know what I said in video haha
Cape Town, South Africa is arguably the most visually stunning place in the world. The cost of living in Cape Town is quite good to say the least! While I was visiting as a tourist, it didn’t stop me from going deeper to learn more about the culture and history. And there's a lot of deep, complex history in South Africa, especially in regards to race relations. Being Black myself, I had a lot of questions and I got a lot different answers. I could do a whole video on just the topic, but I will save that for another video. The one thing I did hear often was that there is progress being made.
Rene and I took the opportunity to explore this amazing city in the short time we had after hearing so much about it. This was my first time in Africa in a few years but it always feel good to come back.
There is so much to do Cape Town. If you're into good wine, views, food, yachting, different cultures, nightlife, you name it, this city is the perfect destination to experience it all.
Before the guide comes, here is list of places and things I did.

30 Things to do in Cape Town, South Africa Travel Guide Video Transcript:
Today we’re taking you around one of our favourite cities: Cape Town, South Africa.
We first visited Cape Town in 2015 as the final stop on a monthlong trip across South Africa. However, by the time we arrived, we only had a couple of days to spare and the weather was less than ideal, so we didn’t get to see very much.
We knew we had to return to do the city justice and also film a proper Cape Town travel guide for you guys. This time around, we gave ourselves a full week to spare.
Our days were packed with sightseeing, and with visits to restaurants, chocolate shops, wineries and gin distilleries, so without further delay, let us show you 30 things do in Cape Town, South Africa.
And that’s a wrap for our week in Cape Town, South Africa. We hope you enjoyed following along and that this guide gave you a few ideas of things to see, do and eat in Cape Town. As always, if you have any other suggestions for fellow travellers, feel free to share those in the comments below. In the meantime, wishing you happy travels and see you next time!
