    Garrapata State Park is a state park of California, USA, located on Highway 1 6.7 miles south of Carmel and 18 miles north of Big Sur on the Monterey coast. It is marked only with one sign on the west side of the road. Numbered turnouts mark each parking area. The 2,939-acre park was established in 1979.Garrapata State Park has 2 miles of beachfront, with coastal hiking and a 50-foot climb to a view of the Pacific. The park offers diverse coastal vegetation with trails running from ocean beaches into dense coast redwood groves. The park also features coastal headlands at Soberanes Point. California sea lions, harbor seals and sea otters frequent the coastal waters while gray whales pass close by during their yearly migration.The beaches in the park have been used for nude recreation.

    Clarence Fahnestock Memorial State Park, also known as Fahnestock State Park, is a 14,337-acre state park located in Putnam and Dutchess counties, New York. The park has hiking trails, a beach on Canopus Lake, and fishing on four ponds and two lakes. Most of the park is situated in northern Putnam County between the Taconic State Parkway and U.S. Route 9. During the winter season, part of the park functions as the Fahnestock Winter Park. The park also includes an environmental center known as the Taconic Outdoor Education Center.
