Small Towns & Villages in South Bohemia from Czech Railways Train
Watch small towns and villages in South Bohemia from Czech Railways train as the train goes through the lush and picturesque countryside between Český Krumlov and České Budějovice. You'll see views of Plešovice, Třísov, Holubov, Křemže, Vrábeč or Vrábče and Černý Dub. In Holubov you can listen to bird sounds as the train lingers for a while in the train station as the birds in the surrounding trees are singing loudly. Throughout the train ride you can also hear the railway crossing signal sound and towards the end of the video you'll hear the train horn.
Enjoy.
Czech documentary about the history and origin of Prague
Despite the city's turbulent history, Prague's progress in recent years has been more stately than revolutionary. The booming tourism sector and a solid industrial base have left its citizens in better economic shape than the rest of the country. Unemployment is minimal, the shops are full, and façades that were crumbling a decade ago have been given face-lifts. Big new shopping malls and multiplex cinemas are popping up all over the place, there's a huge new sporting and events arena, the metro system is being extended and a new floodprotection system has been installed.
There are downsides, of course. Rumours of corruption in City Hall are rife, affordable housing remains in short supply, the health system is under strain, and traffic congestion and crime rates are up. Despite this, the mood of the city remains buoyant.
Václav Havel's 13 years as president came to an end in February 2003, when his place was taken by hard-nosed, right-wing economist Václav Klaus. More change was to come: the decision on whether the Czech Republic should join the European Union was settled by a referendum - with 77% voting in favour - and on 1 May 2004 the Czech Republic became a member of the EU.

If Vienna doesn't do it for you, you're hard to please
It's easy to see why Vienna is dubbed the 'cultural capital' of Europe. It's long history of musical excellence is second to none, with Mozart, Beethoven, Schubert and Johann Strauss all calling Vienna home. Even today the Vienna Philharmonic orchestra is acknowledged as one of the world's best, and the Vienna Boy's Choir packs out venues wherever they tour.
While we were there they were either packing up or setting up for the Vienna Film Festival (it was hard to tell), as well as the Food and Wine Festival that runs in conjunction with it. There's over 100 museums for you to choose from and there's always opera, theatre and other festivals to satisfy your cultural urges.
It's also quite the romantic city for couples out there wanting to spend some quality time together for a few days. From narrow medieval streets to beautiful squares to the magnificent buildings lining the RingStrasse, you'll be inspired by the atmosphere of this picturesque destination. It's not so easy to be all romantic with a two year old wanting your attention at every possible moment, but a bit of hand holding and a sneaky kiss here and there is still possible!
We thoroughly enjoyed our three days of wandering around this clean and safe city, and I'm sure you will too. If the likes of the Schonbrunn Palace, St Stephen’s Cathedral, Natural History Museum, Belvedere Castle and Gardens, Hofburg Palace, Sissi Museum, Michaelerplatz, and Freyung don't do it for you, then I'm afraid you're very hard to please.
Watch our video of our time spent in the beautiful city of Vienna...
