Mexico City Travel: Things to see and do
While traveling to Mexico City, we saw parks, street vendors, museums, historic places, restaurants, Teotihuacan pyramids, dogs, the Metro, lots of art, and much more. Some of the restaurants we tried included: Casa Virginia, Lalo!, Los Danzantes, Restaurante Oaxaca en Mexico, Contramar, and others. We got around mostly by Uber, lots of walking, and the Metro (subway).
Mexico City is a vibrant and very cosmopolitan city. While most gringos fear that Mexico City is dangerous and dirty, it is quite the opposite. The city seemed very safe and clean. The parks and walkable neighborhoods are terrific. There are countless coffee shops, restaurants, boutique stores, galleries, museums, and more.
We stayed at a fantastic little bed and breakfast called The Red Tree House located in the La Condesa neighborhood.

MEXICO CITY IS AWESOME!!
It's our 1st time in CDMX & we're realizing why many think Mexico City is one of the best cities in the world!
►Subscribe to our channel:
If you’re visiting Mexico City in 2019, you are in for a treat! In Centro Historico, the historic center of CDMX, you can find gorgeous colonial architecture, the 2nd largest town square in the world, an amazing cathedral, and Aztec ruins. There is no shortage of things to see and do and that’s only talking about 1 small area of Mexico City.
In today’s travel video, we travel to Mexico City’s historic center and from there, it’s just a few steps to the ruins that have been there for many hundreds of years. We thought it was so crazy that just feet away from the Zocalo (the city square), there are incredibly well-preserved ruins. In fact, the city was built on top of a large set of ruins just like the ones you can tour at Templo Mayor Museum.
After spending some time out in the sun around Zocalo, the ruins, Calle Madero, and Palacio de Bellas Artes, we had to go cool off with a drink and fuel up with some authentic Mexico City Street Food. Let me tell you, a tasty Gordita is exactly what the doctor ordered!
What’s next? Of the million and one things to do in Mexico City, we decided that we better visit the highly-recommended Castillo de Chapultepec (Chapultepec Castle) located in Latin America’s biggest park. What. A. View. Like a castle out of the movies, Chapultepec Castle is built on the top of a large hill with incredible views of the entire city. It’s worth it just for the sight line but as a bonus, you get to see some pretty gardens and a cool museum after the hike up the hill.
The adventures don’t end there, nor to our Mexico City videos. We will see you again shortly with another video from Mexico’s Capital, CDMX.

⁴ᴷ⁶⁰ Walking Mexico City CDMX : Colonia Juárez & Mercado Juárez
Google Maps Route:
A quick walk through Colonia Juárez & a quick visit to the local Mercado.
From Wikipedia:
Colonia Juarez is one of the better–known neighborhoods or colonias in the Cuauhtémoc borough of Mexico City. The neighborhood is shaped like a long triangle with the boundaries: Paseo de la Reforma on the north, Avenida Chapultepec on the south, and Eje 1 Poniente (Avenida Bucareli) on the east.
It is located between the historic center of Mexico City and the Chapultepec Park area, just south of the Paseo de la Reforma, which is one of Mexico's main commercial districts and its financial center. Since it was established in the late 19th century and early 20th as a haven for the wealthy leaving the city center, the colonia has been in near constant change. Most of the mansions built in the early part of its history have either been abandoned, converted into businesses or been taken over by squatters. However, it has had a cosmopolitan and intellectual reputation since its founding, which was reinforced with the influx of artists and intellectuals in the 1960s. The area has suffered deterioration since the 1980s, due to the 1985 Mexico City earthquake and other factors, but there have been efforts to return the area's former prestige, including tourism promotion, historic conservation efforts and the urbanization of areas close to Paseo de la Reforma.
The best known area of the colonia is Zona Rosa (Pink Zone) which is a tourist attraction for its artistic and intellectual reputation and is home to Mexico City's gay community. It is also home to “Little Seoul,” center of the city's Korean immigrant population.
