Hi DIY travellers!
Snoop Dogg’s Beautiful is a stunning testament to Rio de Janeiro. He featured the main highlights plus showed the side that everybody wants to see when traveling to the marvelous city. Sunny weather, gorgeous people, stunning beaches and it all finishes with a party, brazilian style.
So what are the places you see in Snoop Dogg’s video?
1. The Selaron stairs are probably the most photographed places in Rio along with the Christ. Luckily there’s plenty of room on the stairs to take a memorable picture. The Selaron stairs is the manifestation of Selaron’s love for Rio. He was from Chile but when he lived every day he would tweak the stairs and add more beautiful tiles to it creating a unique, colorful highlight right in Lapa, the place to be at night during the weekends. By day tourists sit here to take pics while at night mostly locals sit here, play music, sing and smoke…..
2. Copacabana Beach The beach you see in Snoop Dogg’s video. I recognized it by 2 things. The apartments behind him and the famous wave pattern sidewalk. You see, in Copacabana this pattern is a wave while in Ipanema the pattern is like this My favorite Brazilian singer Ivete Sangalo also rocked a dress with this pattern and you’ll also find it in, Lisbon! That’s because Copa has used a black and white Portuguese pavement design since its origin in the 1930s: a geometric wave.
3. Parque Lage Snoop Dogg’s video ends with a booming brazilian Samba party at Parque Lage. Also known as the little Taj Mahal because this place was built out of love. During the week Parque Lage is a art school for young creative talents while in the weekend it becomes a great place with a magnificent view to have breakfast, brunch or lunch. And if you’re thinking of getting married abroad, know that Parque Lage is a popular place for wedding receptions. And I can totally see why
Which of the 3 places featured in Snoop Dogg’s video did you like the most? Let me know in the comments below
