Dandeli Wildlife Sanctuary is located at 15°30′23″N 74°23′30″E in Uttara Kannada District of Karnataka state in India. The sanctuary covers an area of 866.41 km2 . Along with neighboring Anshi National Park , the sanctuary was declared part of the Anshi Dandeli Tiger Reserve in 2006. Karnataka state government has officially notified the Dandeli Elephant Reserve under Project Elephant on 4 June 2015. The elephant reserve is spread over 2,321 km2, including 475 km2 as core and the remaining as buffer areas. The Kali River or Kali nadi is a river flowing through Uttara Kannada district of Karnataka state in India. The river rises near Diggi, a small village in Uttar Kannada district. The river is the lifeline to some 4 lakh people in the Uttara Kannada district and supports the livelihoods of tens of thousands of people including fishermen on the coast of Karwar. Kali Tiger Reserve is a protected area and tiger reserve. It is located in Uttara Kannada district, in Karnataka, India. The park is a habitat of Bengal tigers, black panthers and Indian elephants, amongst other distinctive fauna. Dudhsagar Falls is a four-tiered waterfall located on the Mandovi River in the Indian state of Goa. It is 60 km from Panaji by road and is located on the Madgaon-Belagavi rail route about 46 km east of Madgaon and 80 km south of Belagavi. Dudhsagar Falls is amongst India's tallest waterfalls with a height of 310 m and an average width of 30 metres . The falls is located in the Bhagwan Mahaveer Sanctuary and Mollem National Park among the Western Ghats. The waterfall forms the border between Karnataka and Goa states. The area is surrounded by a deciduous forests with a rich biodiversity. The falls are not particularly spectacular during the dry season but during the monsoon season however, the falls are fed by rains and form a huge force of water.

Dandeli Travel Guide 2019 | River rafting | Camping - Pepper Paradise | Cost details

We planned a short adventure trip to Dandeli with our friends.

A small town in north Karnataka, this place is an incomparable mix of scenic beauty and adventure activities.
It offers white water rafting, night camps, nature walks, boating, bird watching, tiger and crocodile spotting, and even trips to nearby caves.

We stayed at Pepper Paradise resort and explored this beautiful place and enjoyed water activities.

How to reach: WE took a train from Mumbai to Dharwad and from there we took a bus to Dandeli.
From Bangalore and Hyderabad, you can take a train to Hubli (56km) and then take a local bus or taxi from there.

By Road: KSRTC buses run from all major cities in Karnataka. You can also drive down from Goa.

Day 1: River rafter:Water activities are conducted in Ganeshgudi is 22kms from Dandeli main town near Supa Dam. There are few resorts here which provide water activity e.g, Bison Resort, Hornbil Resort, White water resort etc.
The charges for water activities are as follows:
1. White river rafting: INR 500/person for short (Duration 20-30 mins). Medium and long rafting are also available.
2. Kayaking: INR 250/person (Duration: 30mins)
3. Zipline: INR 350/person
4. Natural Jacuzzi: INR 200/person
5. Zorbing: 200/person

Day 2 Syntheri rocks
Syntheri Rocks, located at a distance of 25 km from Dandeli.
Syntheri Rocks are made of monolithic granite and have been carved into caves and crevices by the strong river current.
You need to either start early morning or late afternoon for a visit to Syntheri because it involves a considerable descent down many steps,
and then walking through the dense forests to the banks of river Kaneri, a small river that eventually merges into Kali River.
It is a great spot to just sit and see the sun rise or set behind the huge rocks and cliffs.

Day 3 Camping and Jungle walk at Pepper paradise.
Pepper paradise have both rooms and tents available.The resort is around 10 km from Daneli city.

we did a early morning jungle trek arranged by the resort. We walked into the dence jungle for around 1 hour and spotted wild animal and birds.
Then we returned to our resort Pepper paradise for camping. There are many indoor games and outdoor activities available in the resort.
In the evening you can enjoy the bonfire.The food was delicious and the owner Kartik is very helpful and approachable.
Note: There is no mobile network coverage on the location.Only BSNL network works here.you need use the resort wifi for connectivity.
