Idagunji is a small place in Honnavara taluk, Uttar Kannada district, which has the famous Vinayaka temple. The temple is the main attraction at Idagunji, receiving more than 1 million devotees per year.
Idagunji, Ganapathi temple is an ancient temple with a history of more than 1500 years, it is a major tourist attraction in the Karavali coast of Karnataka, India. This place has got its own name for its beautiful idol of Lord Ganapathi. The importance of Edakunj kshetra has been mentioned in the Sahyadri khand of the Skandapuran. ‘Eda’ (Wamnadi) means ‘to the left’ and ‘kunj’ means garden. The place thus got its name, as it is located on the left banks of the river Sharawati. This temple is a major piligrim spot which attracts more than 1 million devotees per year. The temple is midway between Gunavanteshwar and Murudeshwar and is 1/2 hr drive from either temple.
THE IDOL
The temple is quite big. The Ganesha idol is in a standing posture, with extremely short legs, and a depression on the head. The “Dwibhuja Ganapathy” or two handed Ganesha is holding Modaka and Padma (Lotus) in his hands. The idol is of black stone.
IDAGUNJI SPECIALITY
PANCHAKHADYA is prepared for LORD GANAPATHI it is the special prasada of this temple. Many devotees (including me) believe that when one is in deep problem all you have to do is pray to Idagunji Ganesha and when Ganesha helps you and your problems are gone, all you have to do is visit the temple and offer a 5 or 10 Rs Panchadaya to the Lord and you will be blessed forever.

Gokarna/ Karnataka/India
Etymology
Gokarna means Cow's Ear. It is believed that Lord Shiva emerged from the ear of a cow (Prithvi, the Mother Earth) here. It is at the ear-shaped confluence of two rivers Gangavali and Aghanashini.
Gokarna (Kannada: ಗೋಕರ್ಣ) is a small temple town on the western coast of India in the Kumta taluk of Uttara Kannada district of the state of Karnataka. The main temple and deity is Lord Shiva, who is also known as Mahabhaleshwara. This temple houses what is believed to be original image of Lord Shiva's lingam (Atmalinga). There are many other temples all over this small town. Ankola and Kumta on Highway 17 are the main towns near Gokarna.
Gokarna is known as one of the seven important Hindu pilgrimage centers. It is on what was once an unspoiled beach near the estuary of the river Aghanashini. Recently, due to the number of tourists, the character of the town has changed; it is no longer just a center of pilgrimage, though large numbers of devotees visit to offer prayers and worship to Lord Shiva.
Due to its laid-back, unspoiled and rustic nature many younger western tourists started visiting Gokarna about a decade ago. The beaches around Gokarna were hardly used by the locals until these mainly western tourists started coming.Enterprising locals started stores, restaurants, and now the resorts also caters to wealthier tourists.
Mythology
Gokarna is mentioned in the Shrimad Bhagavata Purana as being the home of the brothers Gokarna and Dhundhakari. The sthalapuranam of Gokarna was then available in Tamil as it was a part of the Tamil kingdoms during the Sangam era, has the following account.
In order that Brahma who out of arrogance arising out of his power to create the universe, sat penancing to redeem himself from curse of shivan, Lord Shiva appeared in front of him from the ears of a cow. So the place came to be known as gokarnam or ear of the cow. The sangam period writings refer to a class of chieftains going by names kocar and kilans, in charge of the region between gokarnam and present day Mumbai. Even though the Tamil saints have revered this temple, their composed hymns on the same are not available today. Hindu mythology says that when Lord Parsurama the sixth avatar of Lord Vishnu created Kerala it was from Gokarna to Kaniyakumariya.
As per legend, Ravana was given Atmalinga by lord shiva and instructed that it would stay permanently where it is first placed on the land. But Lord Ganesha came in the form of a boy and planted it in Gokarna while Ravana was performing rituals. Once placed Ravana could not remove it from ground, but he removed some pieces of the Linga and threw them in different directions.
The Charming Sirimane Falls, Sringeri
Sirimane Falls is located at a distance of 5 km from Kigga & Sringeri about 16 km a popular pilgrim center. Best season for visiting would be in the rainy season depending on the weather and climate. To visit this place from Bangalore by bus you need to come to Sringeri. There you get Sringeri Sharada temple accommodation and food facilities. From Sringeri to Sirimane falls there are no direct buses. Best way to visit Sirimane falls is to go by own vehicle or by auto rikshaw and visit this place.
One of the numerous waterfalls of the Western Ghats. This waterfall though small in height( about 40 feet) when compared to the other waterfalls of the Western Ghats. But in beauty this one as pretty as others. This falls is located in a thick and dense forest and it is maintained neat and clean. There you don't get any accommodation or hotel. The falls is few steps away from the parking area, so one can easily reach this falls.
Sagara & nearest sightseeing
In Sagara there are many historical places to visit like Shridharashrama, and some historical temples. It is 30 km from Jog falls and there are nearby places like Sigandur and Sirsi Marikamba Temple.

Kodachadri (ಸವ೯ಜ್ಞ ಪೀಠ) is a mountain peak with dense forests (elevation - 1,343 metres above sea level) in the Western Ghats in South India (Shivamogga Dist., Karnataka)78km from Shimoga. It is declared as natural heritage site by Government Karnataka and it is 13th highest peak of Karnataka.Kodachadri forms a background to the temple of Mookambika in Kollur.
Sarvajna Peeth is a small temple like structure near the peak where Adi Shankara meditated.
Let's go for a trip to Kodachadri in our own KSRTC. I am going to with my friend Vysakh . From Vytilla journey charges Rs 700. We have to take another bus from Kollur to Kodachadri for Rs 30.
We can trek from there in our own risk or else we can hire a jeep for 350 from kollur to the top part. If you like to trek then you are going to enjoy the trekking .Don't forget to carry some water with you while trekking otherwise it's going to be tough .
