Woodstock Vermont - Fall 2017

Woodstock VT was named most beautiful town in the US by Condé Nast Traveler. We were here for a week in mid-October 2017 and we agree! The locals told us the fall colors weren't at their prime this year - a too-warm fall had messed with the trees - but we were still in awe of the beauty we saw all around us. If God had asked Walt Disney to create a lovely New England town, Woodstock would be the result!

Animals and people sharing the hiking trail at Shenandoah National Park

This video shows all the images from a camera trap set along a trail in Shenandoah National Park as part of a citizen science wildlife survey called eMammal. This was one of nearly 2000 camera traps run across 32 protected areas in the region. Analysis of the data showed that most species did not avoid the trails, and that some species even preferred walking on trails. A description of the study is available here:
