Lancaster, New Hampshire was an early settlement on the northern portion of the Connecticut River. The town was named after Lancaster, Massachusetts, which was the hometown of an early settler. The seat of Coos County, Lancaster is home to the six-day annual Lancaster Fair and serves a cultural and economic center for the region, with a historic downtown and brilliant views of the surrounding mountains.
Lancaster serves as the gateway to the Great North Woods region, which includes the northernmost portion of New Hampshire, parts of northern Vermont, and parts of western Maine. Popular attractions include the northern portion of the White Mountain National Forest, the historic paper mills of Berlin, and the scenic Connecticut Lakes in Pittsburg. This particular video features Screw Auger Falls in Grafton Notch State Park, Newry, Maine. Only a couple hours from Portland, Maine, Screw Auger Falls is a perfect place for a picnic and possibly a swim, if you don't mind really cold water. Some picnic tables are handicap accessible.

Bumpkin's Blue Sky Umbagog Lake Bald Eagle Moose trip.MP4
Disney Dads online magazine's senior editor just spent a couple days here with her kids- llama trekking, Hummingbirding, Organic gardening, relaxing, and then off to catch a glimpse of a female moose on our way to Umbagog Lake National Wildlife Refuge where our guided pontoon boat took us all out on a spectacular trip up into the Rapid River area- at the upper end of the twelve mile lake. Ospreys, Loons,Black Ducks and a magnificent Bald Eagles Nest with two almost fully ground eaglets stood awaiting the return of their parents with a hopeful meal of fresh fish.... Unusually Still Lake water made for a surrealist visuals. NewEnglandRidingandDriving.com
