Dorgali is a comune in the Province of Nuoro in the Italian region Sardinia, located about 230 kilometres northeast of Cagliari and about 38 kilometres east of Nuoro in the Seaside Supramonte mountain area. Economy is mostly based on the vine and wine production and, in summertime, on tourism. In one of the caves, Ispinigoli, the only known specimen of the extinct giant otter Megalenhydris was found.

    Giants' tomb is the name given by local people and archaeologists to a type of Sardinian megalithic gallery grave built during the Bronze Age by the Nuragic civilization. They were collective tombs and can be found throughout Sardinia, with 800 being discovered there.A stone cairn lies over the burial chambers, with some examples having a cup-shaped entrance similar to the court cairn tombs of Ireland.
