East Sikkim is one of the four administrative districts of the Indian state of Sikkim. Geographically, East Sikkim occupies the south-east corner of the state. The capital of East Sikkim is Gangtok, which is also the state capital. It is the hub of all administrative activity in the state. The civilian region is administered by a district collector, appointed by the Union Government and the military area by a Major General. As of 2011 it is the most populous of the four districts of Sikkim.

  • 3. Kyongnosla Alpine Sanctuary Gangtok
    The Kyongnosla Alpine Sanctuary is a wildlife sanctuary, located in East Sikkim, India. It is situated around the area adjoining the Tsomgo lake along the Nathula Road. Located about 31 km east of Gangtok, the capital of Sikkim, this sanctuary covers an area of about 31 km2 , and extends from the 15th Mile police check point up to and along the ridges bordering the Rong Chu Valley and Lake Tsomgo. Rich in both flora and fauna, rare, endangered ground orchids and rhododendrons interspersed among tall junipers and taller silver firs are among the important plants present. Rhododendron niveum and Cypripedium tibeticum , which is on the verge of extinction, have also been introduced here.

    Dzuluk or Zuluk or Jhuluk or Jaluk is a small hamlet located at a height of around 10,000 feet on the rugged terrain of the lower Himalayas in East Sikkim of the Indian state Sikkim . This place is relatively an emerging and offbeat destination in East Sikkim. Today it is fast emerging as a new tourist destination. It derives its tourism importance due to the excellent view of the eastern Himalayan mountain range including the Kanchenjunga.

    Khangchendzonga National Park also Kanchenjunga Biosphere Reserve is a National Park and a Biosphere reserve located in Sikkim, India. It was inscribed to the UNESCO World Heritage Sites list in July 2016, becoming the first Mixed Heritage site of India. The park gets its name from the mountain Kangchenjunga which is 8,586 metres tall, the third-highest peak in the world. The total area of this park is 849.5 km2 .

    Fambong Lho Wildlife Sanctuary is a wildlife reserve in the East Sikkim district of the state of Sikkim in India. This sanctuary is around 30 km west from Gangtok that is one hour by road from the capital of Sikkim. Total notified area of this sanctuary is around 51 square kilometres, few small hamlets are there inside this sanctuary; which are Dikchu, Pangthang, Mangan etc. This wildlife sanctuary has continuation with Khangchendzonga National Park of north sikkim. Management authority is governed by State Forest Department which comes under protected area type Wildlife Sanctuary. .
