Colombia‘s Secret National Park: El Cocuy - Cinematic Travel Vlog
Travel movie vlog video (filmed with the all new Sony Alpha 7 III Camera, GoPro Hero 6 and DJI Spark) cinematic style of Colombia with Bucaramanga, Malaga and El Cocuy (National Park) - Sierra Nevada del Cocuy (Boyaca). We tried to hike (trekking) to Laguna Grande but needed to stop because of too much snow, weather conditions and cold air. We went up to 4'500m - but there are many 5'000m. Was an amazing advanture to visit the old colonial village el cocuy . We needed to charter a small plane (Ases Airlines, to get to the village malaga - from there another 3 hours trip by car to el cocuy. Very remote but worth the effort. All to be continued in part 6. So far the best expericences with travelling in colombia. Feels mostly safe and well organized - very friendly and helpful people. Road trip, Privat driver, Plane, Public transportation. Fantastic travel movie with awesome nature pictures and footage of landscapes and cities in colombia - vlog style.

Best Places to Visit in Colombia, South America
Cast all of your outdated ideas aside - like drug wars and gangsters - and you'll find that Colombia is a nation brimming with confidence and rushing headfirst into a more peaceful and prosperous future. In this land of contrasts, you'll encounter snow-capped Andean peaks, tropical Amazonian jungles, turquoise Caribbean coasts, and two sun-kissed deserts. You'll also find a host of spectacular attractions at the places in between, from the bustling cities of Bogotá and Medellin to the quiet colonial village of Mompox. Above all else, the famous Colombian hospitality will undoubtedly find you coming back for more.

Most Incredible Places to Visit in Colombia
Cartagena
Let's start with the most obvious places, Cartagena, since it is Colombia's #1 tourist destination, and for pretty good reason. This old, walled city draws visitors through its colorful corridors, past exotic fruit vendors and sucks you in.
Tayrona National Park
Tayrona National Natural Park is probably the crown jewel of Colombia's national park system, an ecological paradise where palm-tree lined white sand beaches tuck up against crystalline blue waters.
Cabo de la Vela in La Guajira
For unforgettable beaches that are far less touristy than those in Cartagena or Tayrona, you should make a point to head to Cabo de la Vela along the Guajira region.
El Cocuy
For a total change of scenery you can (slowly, thanks to the high altitude) make your way to El Cocuy, located near the border of Venezuela, high in the Andes mountains.
San Gil
San Gil is located near the big city of Bucaramanga, and it remains one of my all-time favorite mid-size towns. San Gil is known as the adventure sports capital of Colombia, thanks to the many fun outdoor activities available in the area.
Villa de Leyva
Ville de Leyva is located a few hours from Bogota, and it is among the best preserved colonial towns in Colombia, with very little in the way of development over the past 400 years.
The Salt Cathedral of Zipaquira
Perhaps among the most unique churches in the world, the Salt Cathedral of Zipaquira is a Catholic church built inside the tunnels of an underground salt mine, more than 200 meters underground.
Bogota
Bogota is the large and bustling capital city, a place that can be somewhat chaotic and overwhelming, but nonetheless is worth visiting as Colombia's most cosmopolitan city, filled with arts, culture, entertainment, food, and much more.
Caño Cristales
Caño Cristales is a unique natural attraction known as the red river or the river of seven colors, due to the phenomenon of naturally occurring algae during certain times of the year which turns the river into unreal colors.
Amazonas
Most visitors to Colombia explore only a tiny fraction of Colombia and never make it over the Andes to Los Llanos (the plains) and the Amazon. Again, this is a place that you need to fly to in order to visit, as there are no roads that will take you to Leticia.
San Andres & Providencia
Finally, the last of my recommended places to visit in Colombia that involves flying, is a trip to the idyllic Caribbean islands of San Andes and Providencia. These two islands are actually located closer to Nicaragua than Colombia, but are nonetheless part of Colombia.
Medellin
Medellin at first blush isn't the prettiest city (although the surrounding landscape most certainly is) but it is a place that beats with life, energy, and rejuvenation.
Guatape
Not too far outside of Medellin, you'll find the cute little town of Guatape with colorfully painted buildings and a plethora of things to do in this pleasant little tourist town.
Cali
Cali is often overlooked compared to Cartagena, Medellin, and Bogota, but it has its own interesting vibe and story... For one, this is the salsa dancing capital of Colombia, so if that's on your list at all, then you've got to come to Cali.
Tatacoa Desert
Crossing back over one of the cordillera mountain ranges from Cali, you will find the intriguing Tatacoa Desert, just north of Neiva. Here you will find what we usually call badlands in English, where strangely colored desert formations lay out before you.
San Agustin
South of Tatacoa, the landscape turns from desert to jungle, where you will find the town of San Agustin. The principle draw here, beyond the waterfalls and beautiful landscapes, is the San Agustin Archeological Park.
Popayan
The white city of Colombia was a huge surprise for me, and is certainly among my top favorite mid-size cities... Arguably even more attractive then some of the more famous colonial cities like Barichara or Villa de Leyva.
The Coffee Axis
The Coffee Axis, or Coffee Triangle consists of the area surrounding the three cities of Manizales, Armenia, and Pereira. This is where the majority of the Colombia's top coffee is cultivated.
Los Nevados
Los Nevados is another one of the top national parks in Colombia, which rivals El Cocuy in terms of the mountainous terrain and snowcapped peaks.
Valle de Cocora
Perhaps one of the most unique and impressive sights in Colombia is the Valle de Cocora, where wax palms stretch high into the area above the verdant green ground.
Las Lajas
Finally, my last recommendation in the top places to visit in Colombia is one that sits practically on the border with Ecuador in the far south... The Las Lajas Sanctuary.

NOTE: The CDC has identified Colombia as an affected area of the Zika outbreak. Pregnant women are advised to be cautious as the virus can lead to birth defects. Adults affected by the virus experience fever, rash, joint pain, and conjunctivitis (red eyes) typically lasting a week. You can learn more by visiting the official CDC website.
==========================
Colombia - Twice the size of France, and with a diversity of landscapes and cultures that would be hard to find even in countries five times its size, Colombia should by all rights be one of the world's top travel destinations.
Pick a climate, and it's yours—if you find the light jacket weather of Bogotá cold, drive an hour down through the mountains and sunbathe next to the pool of your rented hacienda. If you don't want to sit still, head off into the Amazon or any of the country's other many inland jungles, snow-capped volcanoes, rocky deserts, endless plains, lush valleys, coffee plantations, alpine lakes, deserted beaches.
For culture, intellectual Bogotá might lead the rest of Latin America in experimental theater, indie-rock, and just sheer volume of bookstores, but you could also get a completely alien education in an Amazonian malocca, or you could delve into the huge Latin music scene of salsa and cumbia, with the most exciting dance display being the enormous Carnival of Barranquilla.
For history, wander the narrow streets of South America's original capital in Bogotá, check out old Spanish colonial provincial retreats like Villa de Leyva, trek through the thick jungle-covered mountains of the northeast to the Lost City of the Tayrona Indians. Walk the walls of Cartagena's achingly beautiful old city, looking over the fortified ramparts upon which the colonial history of South America pivoted.
For nightlife, hot Cali is today's world capital of salsa, claiming that competitive distinction even over Colombia's other vibrant big city party scenes, which keep the music going long into the small hours of the morning.
For dining, you'll find everything from the ubiquitous cheap, delicious Colombian home-style meals to world-class upscale and modern culinary arts in the big cities, with cuisines from all corners of the world represented.
And for relaxing, there are gorgeous tropical beaches along Colombia's Caribbean and Pacific coasts, but you can find even more laidback and peaceful retreats on the idyllic and unspoilt Caribbean island of Providencia.
The political violence has subsided substantially throughout the majority of the country and savvy travelers have already flocked here from around the world—come before everyone else catches on!
See in Colombia
===============
Much of Colombia is in the Andes, which means there is very nice mountainous scenery to be found. On the other hand, there are also nice beaches to be found in the lowlands. The altitude of some peaks mean that snow can be seen even though they lie in the tropics.
Do in Colombia
=============
There are a lot of things to do in Colombia, and you can find parties and celebrations wherever you go. Colombians especially love to dance, and if you don't know how, they'll happily teach you. Colombia is known for its exciting night life.
There are many groups and agencies offering eco-tourism and it is very usual to find trekking plans (locally named 'caminatas' or 'excursiones') on weekend; many groups (named 'caminantes') offers cheaper one day excursion, special trips (on long weekends or during periods of vacation time (January, Holy Week, July, August, October, December) to different places in the country. Some recommended groups based out of Bogotá are: Viajar y Vivir, Fundación Sal Si Puedes, Caminantes del Retorno; there are many other. Patianchos in Medellín; Rastros in Bucaramanga. If your into adventure theres a archaeological site of an ancient city in Colombia's Sierra Nevada called Teyuna, its a lost city created by the Arhuaco, the Kouguis and the Wiwas. It was found in 1972, when a group of local treasure looters found a series of stone steps rising up the mountainside and followed them to an abandoned city. They usually offer guidance and transportation to the place; on long trips include lodging and other services. The recommendation is asking if the guide has the official certification.

Bogota Travel Guide - Colombia Experience Of Joy
Bogota Travel Guide - Colombia Experience Of Joy
Bogotá is the capital city of Colombia. Bogotá is Colombia's beating heart, an engaging and vibrant capital cradled by chilly Andean peaks and steeped in sophisticated urban cool. The city's cultural epicenter is La Candelaria, the cobbled historic downtown to which most travelers gravitate.
Bogotá is a city of contrasts, and as such it offers a unique experience to its visitors. Prepare to find a hectic balance between the new and the old; the peaceful and the frantic. Bogota is divided into 4 sections: The South which is mainly the poorer section of the city; El Centro, which translates Center, is the city's original Downtown and hosts most of its traditional heritage locations, city and public offices, and financial headquarters. El Occidente, which is home to Bogota's major sporting venues and outdoor parks, as well as residence areas for mainly middle and some upper class living; and The North which is where most modern development has taken place, and combines many upscale living spaces with affluent shopping centres, boutiques, cafes, nightclubs, and many new business neighbourhoods offering headquarters to many multinational corporations.
The city of Bogotá is divided into 20 distinct localities, or Districts, and every visit to this city should include touring at least three or four of them, depending on the purpose and extent of one's travel. The must-see Districts are:
La Candelaria: The colonial district is officially the first neighborhood of Bogotá . Colombia's capital city was founded here in 1538 by Spanish conquistador Gonzalo Jiménez de Quesada y Rivera in a spot known today as El Chorro de Quevedo. The next year, authorities re-founded the city a few blocks away at what is now known as the Plaza de Bolívar. Bogotá then grew up around the neighborhood.
Chapinero : North of La Candelaria, it comprises the new downtown areas of the city, combining office space, residential areas and hundreds of alternatives for shopping, dining and sightseeing. In a city famous for its wild traffic, you'll really enjoy the walks that can be had around El Nogal, La Cabrera and Chicó Reservado. Begin at Carrera 7a around streets 79 or 80, and zig-zag your way down and north until you find the Parque 93.
El Salitre: makes for a unique sightseeing experience with its ample offerings in public venues for Sports and Outdoor activities. . Outdoor fans will find the city's biggest Public Park (Simón Bolívar), home to the most crowded open-air concerts and festivals year-round.
La Macarena : A bohemian neighborhood around the bullfight ring full of artsy cafes, art galleries and great restaurants, centered around carrera 4a between calles 26 and 30.
Parque de la 93: A trendy section of Bogotá with nightclubs and cafes frequently visited by Bogota's jet set.
San Victorino : Located in the center of the city just in front of TransMilenio's station, Av. Jimenez.
Usaquén : The northernmost district, home to many sightseeing locations, modern business squares, and traditional architecture examples. The main square is the meeting point of the area where you can find pretty nice restaurants and bars and located just a few blocks north of Centro Comercial Santa Barbara.
Other districts include: Bosa, Engativá, Fontibón, Kennedy, Los Mártires, Puente Aranda, Rafael Uribe Uribe, Suba, Sumapaz, Barrios Unidos and Tunjuelito.

Parque Natural Utria, Costa Pacifica, Bahia Solano, Nuqui, Ensenada Utria CHOCO, Colombia
