La música como lenguaje universal y expresión de la riqueza cultural de los países ha hecho posible que el mundo sienta hoy el ritmo de Colombia a través de artistas como Shakira, Carlos Vives, Maluma o J Balvin, continuadores de la tradición de otros grandes como Los Corraleros de Majagual o Joe Arroyo.
Gracias a ese talento Medellín, tristemente recordada por la violencia del narcotráfico en las décadas de los años 80 y 90, ahora suena en la voz de Madonna, que estrenó recientemente el sencillo bilingüe con el nombre de esa ciudad junto al reguetonero Maluma, quien dio a conocer este mes su nueva producción, “11:11”.
El aperitivo de la última producción discográfica de la “reina del pop”, “Madame X”, tuvo lugar el pasado 2 de mayo en Las Vegas, durante los Billboard Music Awards, en lo que muchos consideran fue la “presentación en sociedad” de Maluma.
“El suceso que es la música colombiana se nota en todas partes”, no solo por los cantantes sino también por los productores, compositores y demás miembros de esta industria, sentenció en una entrevista con Efe Carlos Vives, el artista que universalizó la música vallenata.
Posteriormente fueron las orquestas de salsa Grupo Niche y Guayacán las que dieron a conocer el “sabor colombiano”, seguidas del popular tema la “Gota fría”, interpretado por Carlos Vives; “Hips don’t lie”, de Shakira, y “La camisa negra”, de Juanes, que antecedieron a nuevas bandas como Bomba Estéreo y Monsieur Periné que hoy marcan tendencia.
Todo lo anterior ha permitido que, por ejemplo, en la plataforma digital de música Spotify los artistas colombianos sean de los más escuchados en el mundo, con J Balvin a la cabeza, en el número tres de la lista por oyentes, con más de 48 millones mensuales.
También, de los 100 vídeos más vistos en YouTube 95 son musicales, y de estos 10 son de artistas colombianos.
En ese sentido, Carlos Vives aseguró que “es una suerte que hoy la industria tenga más presente los sonidos urbanos, como el reguetón, porque al final eso se conecta con los ritmos típicos de Colombia como la cumbia”.
En ese orden de ideas, “es importante que los artistas colombianos no pierdan su esencia, que es justamente la que les ha permitido destacarse en el exterior, a pesar de las novedades que dicta la industria”, añadió.
“En el ‘boom’ de la música de América Latina Colombia juega un papel fundamental”, manifestó por su parte Fonseca, conocido por mezclar pop y ritmos folclóricos, en una reciente rueda de prensa.
Para ello, 23 artistas nacionales grabaron 13 videos musicales que superan los 170 millones de vistas en plataformas digitales como YouTube, Spotify y Deezer, entre otras, según ProColombia.
La riqueza musical colombiana es tal que, según el Berklee College of Music, de Boston (EE.UU.), catalogado como el mejor centro de estudios musicales del mundo, en el país hay más de 1.000 ritmos agrupados en 157 géneros.
