Derry, officially Londonderry, is the second-largest city in Northern Ireland and the fourth-largest city on the island of Ireland. Strabane, historically spelt Straban, is a town in West Tyrone, Northern Ireland. It was the headquarters of the former Strabane District Council. Strabane has a population of around 18,000, which is predominantly nationalist.
It is the second-largest town in Tyrone, after Omagh. It lies on the east bank of the River Foyle and is roughly equidistant from Omagh, Derry City and Letterkenny. The River Foyle marks the border between Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland. On the other side of the river (across Lifford Bridge) is the smaller town of Lifford, which is the county town of County Donegal. The Mourne flows through the centre of the town, and meets the Finn to form the Foyle River.
In the 20th century, Strabane garnered the dubious distinction of the highest unemployment rate in the Industrial World, during the height of The Troubles. It is one of the most economically deprived towns in the United Kingdom. Huge economic damage occurred in 1987 when much of the town centre flooded.
The Irish gauge 5 ft 3 in (1,600 mm) Londonderry and Enniskillen Railway (L&ER) reached Strabane in 1847, The Finn Valley Railway (FV) opened from Strabane to Stranorlar in 1863.[10][12] The FV was originally Irish gauge but in 1892 it merged with the 3 ft (914 mm) narrow gauge West Donegal Railway (WD) to form the Donegal Railway.
In 1792, the 4 miles (6.4 km) Strabane Canal was built from the tidal waters of Lough Foyle at Leck, to Strabane. It fell into disuse in 1962. In June 2006 the Strabane Lifford Development Commission awarded a £1.3m cross-border waterways restoration contract. The project was launched by President of Ireland, Mary McAleese, in Lifford and involves the restoration of 1.5 miles (2.4 km) of canal and two locks to working order.
The National Trust owns a Strabane shop in which John Dunlap learnt the printing trade. Dunlap went on to print the United States Declaration of Independence. The house has been visited by several famous people, including former US President Bill Clinton. It is located at the end of the Main Street.Which is now a classic cafe.
Dergalt, the ancestral home of Woodrow Wilson, 28th President of the United States, is near Strabane. Strabane is twinned with Zeulenroda-Triebes in the state of Thuringia, Germany.

Headhunters Barber Shop and Railway Museum - Enniskillen
HEADHUNTERS BARBER SHOP AND RAILWAY MUSEUM - Enniskillen County Fermanagh, is one of the most unusual hairdressers you will ever visit! If interested in trains and their history - especially locally in Fermanagh/Monaghan, etc. You must visit the headhunters! If not - still worth a visit - just to see! The best barber museum around?
So visit the headhunters for a traditional barber, railway museum, train museum, barber museum or even a hair cut!!
What might be making a place different is the idea behind opening it or the things it might be offering to the visitors; those which are done and built on a different kind of idea and those which might give the visitor the chance to see things for the first time are considered the ones which will turn to be the most successful.
The Headhunters Barber Shop and Railway Museum in Enniskillen is one of those different places which is considered different in Northern Ireland because in addition to the hair cut which boys will be able to get, the whole family will get the chance to go through a new experience by wandering through the place and see what it has.
Exploring that old time of travel is not offered everywhere and of course when you get to think about it, you will never consider that being in a barber shop place, because this is considered one idea which we believe is different.
This project which is all about the combination and mixture between being a barber shop and at the same time a place that is displaying the history of the local railway. The Johnston family was the mind that prepared for this place which became one of the most visited attractions in Enniskillen, county Fermanagh, which it succeeded at because of the skills they carried for cutting the hair and the interest they had in the history of local railway.
The Headhunters Barber Shop and Railway Museum has one of the largest collections of Irish railway memorabilia on display which starts at the reconstructed booking office where the ticket collector (a statue) invites people to get on a tour and once you step on board, you will be taken through a tour that travels from Fermanagh and the border counties until the closure of the lines in 1957 and all this include those different exhibits which are created differently, such as the Station Master's office, booking office and signal box.
Walking through this museum is interesting because of all those different things which one will get the chance to see there from the old history of the place. While walking inside, you will get the chance to see uniforms, signalling instruments, signs, lamps, tableware, timetables, tickets, as well as those photographs from the three local railway companies: The Great Northern Railway, The Sligo Leitrim and Northern Counties Railway, and the Clogher Valley Railway.
We fell in love with the idea of the place as a whole and loved the experience we had there as well. This place will definitely be a recommendation for those who are interested in the world of railway because they will spend one of the best days in their trip for the old things which they will find displayed, and it is also a good recommended place for those kids who want to have a professional haircut in a different place that will provide them with a different experience and view as well.
For those who might be getting the idea behind the whole place wrongly or think that they should receive a haircut in order to visit and enter the place, this is not the case, you actually don't have to receive a new haircut in order to visit this museum, you could only come for the sake of the museum and even get inside the place for free without having to get any haircuts on the way.
Entering this wonderful and thoughtful place is free of charge and it opens its gates for the people from Tuesday to Saturday from 9 AM to 5:30 PM; remember, you don't have to get a haircut :-)
The location of Headhunters Barber Shop and Railway Museum is in Enniskillen and this brings different other suggestions which we have to put down in order for people to visit different other attractions in the same area; we have been to Pollnagollum Cave ( we have also visited the Enniskillen Castle Museum which is all about the history of Enniskillen and is also one famous attraction found there ( there is also the amazing Finn Lough Resort which we have been to in Enniskillen and which is one of the best places that is found out there ( all that comes in addition to Lough Erne which is the second biggest lake system in Northern Ireland and thus another place for tourists to visit and know more about it and get the chance to enjoy its views (
