8 PLACES TO VISIT IN MALLORCA
Mallorca, also spelt Majorca is the largest island in the Balearic Islands, which are part of Spain and located in the Mediterranean Sea.
Places to visit in Mallorca:
1. Palma de Mallorca, is the capital and largest city of the autonomous community of the Balearic Islands in Spain.
Attractions: Palma Cathedral, Belliver Castle, The port and marina, Placa Major etc.
2. Port de Soller, Port of Soller is little town situated in one of Mallorca's most beautiful harbours on the west coast.A tramway connecting the town to Sóller, opened in 1913 and is about 5 km long.
3.Sa Calobra, It is one of the most famous spots on Majorca.There are two separate beaches in this cove. When you arrive (by car, coach or boat) in Sa Calobra you will see a small stony beach in front of a restaurant. If you follow the paved path to the right you will come to a short, narrow tunnel from which you will get on to the main Sa Calobra. GO IN THE MORNING OR LATE EVENING!!! It can be very busy.
4.Calo des Moro, is one of those picture perfect beaches. It is located in the south east of the island, six kilometres from Santanyí. It is on private land but it is open to the public, they even had a plan to build an hotel here but it was prevented. We park quite far from the beach, there is a sign that tells you that the road is private.
5. Cap de Formentor; GO IN THE MORNING OR LATE AFTERNNON, it was end of september and it was very busy.I t is an amazing experience to drive there, but be carreful there is a lot of trafic.
6. Alcudia, It is the main tourist centre in the North of Mallorca but the the hotels are mainly concentrated outside the town. Alcudia, the old town is well preserved with houses dating back to the 13th century and it is surrounded by a medieval wall.
7. Cala Figuera, the pictoresque village is part of district of Santaniy. The place has been spared of the mass commercialisation, so is not that is easy to get here by public transport.
8. Cala Mondrago, is one of Mallorca's best beaches, mainly becuase the area was declared a national park since 1992, protecting the area from building hotels or anything else. It can be a very busy place, so expect a lot of tourist. My favorite thing about this place is the national park ,you can do a lot of walks there.
Others places to visit: Deia, Valldemossa, Lluc, Port d'Andratx, Santanyi, Coves del Drac.
Beaches: Es Trenc, Cala Formentor, Playa de Muro, Cala Llombards, Cala Mesquida, Cala Gat.

Caló des Moro -Secret Places of Mallorca
Caló des Moro
Caló des Moro está a seis kilómetros de Santanyí y es la más concurrida de todas las playas de la zona. También recibe erróneamente el nombre de la vecina s’Almunia.
Este talud virgen, enclavado entre altas paredes pobladas de pinos, matas, retama y lentisco, es de arena, salpicado de grandes rocas. Esta fisonomía se altera según la intensidad de los temporales, ya que las corrientes marinas arrastran el limo bajo el mar, eliminando el espacio destinado a solarium. Si a este hecho añadimos sus dimensiones reducidas y la afluencia de bañistas, supone todo un problema encontrar un hueco donde extender la toalla.
Su agua cristalina, abierta a los vientos del este-sureste, resalta un fondo arenoso, excelente para la práctica de buceo y para el fondeo de pequeñas embarcaciones, a una profundidad próxima al litoral que oscila entre los tres y los cuatro metros. A dos millas marítimas se encuentra la instalación portuaria, Port de Cala Figuera de Santanyí.
El acceso al bello Caló des Moró por vía terrestre se inicia estacionando el coche gratuitamente junto a las casitas de sa Comuna (a unos 1,1 kilómetros del inicio de la carretera que conduce hacia s’Almunia, y a medio kilómetro del mar). Se continúarà a pie 400 metros por un sendero que comienza antes que finalice la carretera y que salva el desnivel muy pronunciado del acantilado que nos conduce hasta este arenal rocoso.
Estos impedimentos en su accesibilidad provocan que la afluencia de bañistas locales y turistas sea mediana.

FYI:
The motorway is free to use in all Island
If you are planning to visit Faro de Formentor you will have to leave your car parked down and take the bus since its not allowed any more for tourist to go there by car. All day parking cost 12€ and one way by bus cost 1,5€
and In case you want to buy the ticket for the Cuevas del Drach online to avoid the long queue, you will be forced to choose the exact time and be presented there at the gate 15m before if you fail to do so your ticket will be unvalid and its not refundable.
