It is Australia's largest Chinese temple and includes a 50-foot statue of Mazu imported from Nanjing, China. Construction on the temple complex is slated to continue until 2019, but the main hall was opened to the public by 2015.

The ranges consist mostly of rolling hills, steeply weathered valleys and gullies covered in thick temperate rainforest, predominantly of tall Mountain Ash trees and dense ferny undergrowth. There are three or four suburbs in Melbourne (Footscray, Richmond, Springvale, Sunshine) that have many Vietnamese restaurants and shops... This is one of the markets at Footscray... I love it at the end of the day when they start yelling out special prices in the Vietnamese language... I am instantly transported out of Australia and into Asia. :)
