    Taxi zum Klo is a 1981 film written by, directed by, and starring Frank Ripploh. The story of a schoolteacher and the contrasts between his public and private lives, the film documents pre-AIDS gay culture in West Berlin in the early 1980s. Ripploh has stated that much of the film was autobiographical. The name literally means Taxi to the Toilet , that being a place for casual gay sex.

    The Komödchen is a cabaret stage in Düsseldorf. The Komödchen was created in 1947 as a political-literary cabaret by Kay and Lore Lorentz. Other participants in the initial program Positiv dagegen, which had its premiere on March 29, 1947, were Werner Vielhaber, Bernd Nesselhut, Hans Walter Clasen, Eduard Marwitz, Iris Fanslau, and Ruth Henrichs. Hanne Wieder was also part of the ensemble in its first year. In 1959 the television transmission of the program was banned for a year. The theater moved to its present location on April 27, 1967, and its stage and props were moved to the new location by guests during the intermission of a performance.     Neue Welt was a concert hall in Berlin, Germany. Neue Welt had two halls. The smaller one held 1,500 people, the larger one up to 3,000. Both were rebuilt around 1950. Adolf Hitler spoke at Neue Welt in 1930 to an audience containing Albert Speer who would later be appointed First Architect. From the 1960s until its closing in 1982, it was a popular venue for pop and rock concerts. Notable performers included Jimi Hendrix, Ted Nugent, Whitesnake and Bob Seger. Today there is a venue called Huxley's Neue Welt at this location.
