For the modern community, see Arsuf, Hof HaSharon.Apollonia was an ancient city in Hellenistic and Roman Judea, in the Byzantine period renamed to Sozusa . It was situated on a cliff above the Mediterranean Sea, about 34 kilometres south of Caesarea. It fell to the Muslim conquest in 640 and was fortified against Byzantine attacks and became known as Arsuf . In 1101 it was conquered by the Crusader Kingdom of Jerusalem, and was a strategically important stronghold in the Third Crusade, during which the Battle of Arsuf was fought nearby. The fortified city and the castle fell to the Mamluks in 1265, when both were completely destroyed. The site of Arsuf is now in Herzliya municipality, Israel . The Sidna 'Ali Mosque is a mosque located in the depopulated village of Al-Haram on the beach in the northern part of Herzliya in Israel. It serves as both a mosque and a religious school.The mosque is situated around a tomb reputed to be that of a local saint, Ali b. Alim who died in 1081. Ali was described as great scholar and miracle worker by Baybars' biographer, Muhyi al-Din . According to Mujir al-Din , the mosque was visited by Baybars in 1265. Baybars prayed for victory before retaking Arsuf from the crusaders. An annual festival that was attested here in the 15th century continued up to the 1940s.The existing building contains parts of differing ages of construction and repair, though none from before the 15th century. The city and harbour were built under Herod the Great during c. 22–10 BC near the site of a former Phoenician naval station known as Stratonos pyrgos . It later became the provincial capital of Roman Judea, Roman Syria Palaestina and Byzantine Palaestina Prima provinces. The city was populated throughout the 1st to 6th centuries AD and became an important early center of Christianity during the Byzantine period, but was mostly abandoned following the Muslim conquest of 640. My Website -

Israel is a middle eastern country on the Mediterranean Sea, it is regarded by Jews, Christians and Muslims as the biblical Holy Land, it has gorgeous beaches, and it is an intense party country.

I am starting my tour in the city of Jaffa, which is the southern and oldest part of Tel Aviv, for some mouth watering dessert.

Then I travel to Givatayim for a Jewish- Iraqi and Israeli treat.

Then I head to Ramat-Gan for some delicious meat.

Followed by a trip to Tel-Aviv for one of Israel's most iconic street foods.

Then a drive to Ramla for a delightful Levantine and Egyptian food.

Next a trip to HaSira Interchange in Herzliya for a sweet treat which is just out of this world.

After checking out this amazing delicacy I will take a short walk to the Glilot junction where I will eat an outstanding filling pastry.

I will then hop over to the city of Or Yehuda for a fresh dish that contains a very rich tomato source.

From there to the city of Petach-Tikva where I will eat a very enjoyable dish that is pounded and fried

And lastly I will end my tour in Israel's capital Jerusalem where I will try out some rather unusual ice cream.

If you love to eat delicious meals in beautiful cities which are very close to each other, then you should add Israel to the list of countries that you are definitely going to visit.

Whether inside a bubbling city or in quiet remote gas station which is far from all the noise you will be sure to find some pretty amazing dishes, and some pretty amazing people.
