Es una localidad onubense que está situada en pleno corazón del Parque Natural Sierra de Aracena y Picos de Aroche. Tiene una extensión superficial de 24,5 kilómetros cuadrados y está a 624 metros sobre el nivel del mar. Su población, según el censo del año 2017, asciende a 1293 habitantes. Huelva dista 97 kilómetros y Sevilla, la capital de Andalucía, se encuentra a 74 kilómetros de distancia. El gentilicio de los vecinos es “higuereños”.

On the Day 9 of our Camino de Santiago del Norte we hiked from the town Castro-Urdiales to the coastal village Oriñon.
We had some good sleep and were planning to do 15 km to Orinon. Only in the morning we realized how cool the spot where we camped was with the views of the ocean and coast and no one around. We met the stunning sunrise there, had our breakfast, packed everything up and were good to go. Also we figured out that we're in the other province now in Cantabria we moved from Viscaya very quickly without even noticing it. We understood it by different indicators because that is what you first see on the way. We were glad to be back on the trail and keep on walking and moving forward. We started probably at 11 am so not very early but we knew that the distance that we planned we should do without a problem. First part of the way was going along the highway without any interesting scenery or views. But when we crossed it by the tunnel the route started to go closer to the coast and we finally saw the great and incomparable Ocean! We were so happy to see it and to be able to walk close to it again. As you can see we missed it a lot, its sound, its smell and look...

For $67 for an adult ticket, we believe the price of the Los Veranos Canopy Tour is very reasonable. The price includes transportation to and from the course, zip lining and equipment, an animal encounter, kayaking, and even a tequila tasting.
⇒Getting There
They have several pick up locations located throughout the city. This makes it a convenient excursion no matter where you are staying. We walked to their office in Old Town and jumped in an air conditioned van that took us about 40 minutes south to the center. Although drive time isn't exactly anyone's idea of fun, you are driving with the ocean on one side and the rainforest on the other. It is a breathtaking drive the entire way!
⇒The Zip Lines
Los Veranos Canopy Tour has 15 zip lines that traverse through the jungle of the Sierra Madre Mountains in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. The first few zip lines are short and allow you to practice and get comfortable with the lines, along with how to zip line safely. As you progress through the course, the zip lines get longer and faster! Before you know it, you are racing down against your best friend just 30 feet above the Rio Cuale!3 (26)
⇒The Staff
As great as the zip line course is at Los Veranos, the staff is what makes the experience so incredible. They are extremely helpful, knowledgable, safe, and friendly! They make it an exciting and safe adventure for the adrenaline junkies (and also people like my mom that were scared to death!)
⇒After Zip Lining
After zip lining you will have about 45-60 minutes to eat lunch at their restaurant, play with monkeys, kayak, or swim in the river! They have a nice set up for these activities and they are all nicely covered in case of rain.
⇒Other Things to Know
♦They have plenty of water stations (with cups) located along the course.
♦There is some hiking/walking involved on this tour. It was perfectly fine for beginner level hikers, but good to note that there is some hiking (with stairs) involved. Note: There is an option to skip a few zip lines in order to skip the hike associated with those. Someone did that on our trip and it seemed to work out just fine--she was waiting for us a few lines later.
♦They provide lockers for all of your belongings. We highly recommend taking along a small digital camera with a wrist strap (which you are allowed to carry on the actual zip lines) with you-the shots are incredible! They also have photographers and videographers on the tour with you. They sell a package with all of your photos and a video for $80USD.
♦We believe Los Veranos Canopy Tour is one of the best excursions in Puerto Vallarta and definitely one of the top things to do in the area! The scenery, staff, and zip lining make all make Los Veranos a bucket list experience!

Marbella Spanish, is a city and municipality in southern Spain, belonging to the province of Málaga in the autonomous community of Andalusia. It is part of the Costa del Sol and is the headquarters of the Association of Municipalities of the region; it is also the head of the judicial district that bears its name.
Marbella is situated on the Mediterranean Sea, between Málaga and the Strait of Gibraltar, in the foothills of the Sierra Blanca. The municipality covers an area of 117 square kilometres (45 sq mi) crossed by highways on the coast, which are its main entrances.
In 2012 the population of the city was 140,473 inhabitants, making it the second most populous municipality in the province of Málaga and the eighth in Andalusia. It is one of the most important tourist cities of the Costa del Sol and throughout most of the year is an international tourist attraction, due mainly to its climate and tourist infrastructure.
The city also has a significant archaeological heritage several museums and performance spaces and a cultural calendar with events ranging from reggae concerts to opera performances.
The Marbella municipality occupies a strip of land that extends along forty-four kilometres (27 miles) of coastline of the Penibético region, sheltered by the slopes of the coastal mountain range, which includes the Bermeja, Palmitera, Royal, White and Alpujata sub-ranges. Due to the proximity of the mountains to the coast, the city has a large gap between its north and south sides, thus providing views of the sea and mountain vistas from almost every part of the city. What is known as Marbella's Golden Mile is actually a stretch of four miles (6.4 km) which begins at the western edge of Marbella city and stretches to Puerto Banús. The area is exclusive and home to some of Marbella's most luxurious villas and estates with spectacular views of mountain and sea, such as the Palace of King Fahd, as well as some landmark hotels, among them the Melia Don Pepe, the Hotel Marbella Club and the Hotel Puente Romano. The area developed during the tourism boom of the 1960s, where may be found the ruins of the Roman villa by the Rio Verde,[60] and El Ángel, where the land of the old forge works was converted to an agricultural colony, and the Botanical Gardens of El Ángel with gardens of three different styles, dating from the 8th century.
The Golden Mile is divided into two parts by a motorway that runs through it. Along the motorway are strings of business centres, five-star hotels, golf course and other services. The beachside of the motorway is fully developed, while the mountain side is still undergoing development. Urbanisations in the area's sea side are Alhambra del Mar, La Alcazaba, Las Torres, Los Verdiales, Marbellamar, Marina Marbella, Oasis, Rio Verde and Santa Margarita. Extremadura, October, 2016
Biking through Extremadura, Spain in October, 2016 was in many ways the highlight of my four month European biking trip. Because I was traveling alone and because it was not during the high tourist season, the time and travel was free and unstructured.
Extremadura is an area in SW Spain, bordering Portugal, is sparsely settled and little visited. I became fascinated with the history of this area, long an important trade route on the Iberian Peninsula.
I rode this area from north to south, and after crossing Monfragüe National Park, the first town of note I came to was Trujillo, birthplace of Francisco Pizarro, ruthless conqueror of the Incas in Peru, and about 500 other conquistadors. It was jarring to see these figures idolized in the large and airy Plaza Principal. Above the town is an old Moorish fortress, dating from the 9th Century.
The next town of note I came to was Cáceres, home of Extremadura University, a huge Plaza Major, and palaces built during the Renaissance. I was so charmed by this place I rented an apartment and stayed for about 10 days.
Perhaps the most intriguing city was Merida, named for the Roman Emperor Augustus Emerita, another UNESCO World Heritage Site, and home to the world's longest Roman bridge, Roman stadium, amphitheater, and aqueducts, all amazingly free of tourist and well preserved.
By the time I got to Zafra, in the South of Extremadura, the brown plains gave way to rolling hills full of olive groves and the climate became a bit wetter, and cooler. Perhaps Zafra's town square was the most appealing. It also had a 15th century Alcázar, now a hotel, where I stayed.
