Welcome to Aberdeenshire, Scotland. A place full of the beauty and nature you'd expect in Scotland... and so much more.
Find out more about all the activities, hotels and locations in this video here:
I put this short travel video together during a press trip with Visit Britain and Visit Aberdeenshire. The theme of our trip to Scotland was 'adventure' and the tourism board certainly didn't disappoint! I hope you enjoy seeing just how much there is to do in Aberdeenshire.
Even though I was born in the UK and grew up there, there are many parts of Britain I'm yet to visit. Aberdeenshire was somewhere that I knew very little about before this trip - which is why I chose to go there! - and I'm so glad I got to experience it. I knew Scotland was beautiful, but I didn't realise just how much there was to experience there. If you love being outdoors and doing things that push you out of your comfort zone, you'll probably love Aberdeenshire too.
As always, thanks for watching. I hope you enjoying exploring Aberdeenshire with me. Sadly this will be my only Scotland video because we're moving on to a new destination in the next one - see you there!

Drive Down Famous Bealach na Ba Road Highlands Scotland
Tour Scotland video of a drive down the famous Bealach na Ba single track road on ancestry visit to the Scottish Highlands. This road is a traditional cattle drovers' route from the Western Isles to the markets in the Central Belt. From Isle of Skye, the cattle would have been swum across to Applecross via Raasay as an alternative route to crossing near Kyle. Despite the road's importance to the community it serves, as much so as many of the B-roads in the Highlands, it was never classified, and this is probably due to the steepness and height of the pass. A single track road or one lane road is a road that permits two way travel but is not wide enough in most places to allow vehicles to pass one another, although sometimes two compact cars can pass. This kind of road is common in rural areas across the United Kingdom and elsewhere. The term is widely used in Scotland, particularly the Highlands, to describe such roads.

Tintagel Castle Ruins Drone
Tintagel Castle (Cornish: Dintagel, meaning fort of the constriction) is a medieval fortification located on the peninsula of Tintagel Island adjacent to the village of Tintagel, north Cornwall in England in the United Kingdom. The site was possibly occupied in the Romano-British period, as an array of artefacts dating to this period have been found on the peninsula, but as yet no Roman era structure has been proven to have existed there. It subsequently saw settlement during the Early Medieval period, when it was probably one of the seasonal residences of the regional king of Dumnonia. A castle was built on the site by Richard, 1st Earl of Cornwall in the 13th century, during the Later Medieval period, after Cornwall had been subsumed into the kingdom of England. It later fell into disrepair and ruin.
