The Rock-hewn Churches of Ivanovo are a group of monolithic churches, chapels and monasteries hewn out of solid rock and completely different from other monastery complexes in Bulgaria, located near the village of Ivanovo, 20 km south of Rousse, on the high rocky banks of the Rusenski Lom, 32 m above the river. The complex is noted for its beautiful and well-preserved medieval frescoes. The churches are inside Rusenski Lom Nature Park.

The remains of Abritus are located in the Archaeological Park of Razgrad and constitute an impressive Roman walled city that was one of the biggest urban centres in the province of Moesia Inferior.An on-site museum contains many finds.

2. Demir Baba Teke Isperih
Demir Baba Teke is a 16th-century Alevi mausoleum near the village of Sveshtari, Isperih municipality, Razgrad Province in northeastern Bulgaria. As part of the Sboryanovo historical and archaeological reserve, Demir Baba Teke is one of the 100 Tourist Sites of Bulgaria. The mausoleum is thought to be the resting place of Demir Baba, a 16th-century Alevi saint. The tomb itself is a heptagonal building constructed out of local sandstone. It has a lower rectangular antechamber and is covered by a hemispherical dome 11 metres in height. Demir Baba's grave lies in the middle of the heptagonal inner premises. Rila Monastery in Bulgaria (UNESCO World Heritage Site)

The Rila Monastery (Monastery of Saint Ivan of Rila) was founded in the 10th century and it's the largest Orthodox monastery in Bulgaria. It's located at around 120km south of Sofia.
Every day there is only one public bus that goes and comes back from Sofia to The Rila Monastery.
Instead of taking the public bus, we decided to go there by taking an organized tour by Traventuria. The tour included both the visit to the Rila Monastery and The Boyana Church (both UNESCO World Heritage Sites).
The whole tour lasted around 7-8 hours. The bus was very confortable and with air conditioning. The guide was helpful and nice.
The cost per person was 30 € or 60 Lehv.
If you want to go and visit the Rila Monastery taking an organized tour by Traventuria is a great choice.
