Vancouver Vacation Travel Guide | Expedia
Vancouver’s breezes carry the scents of nature and aromas of all the urban delights you’d expect from a city regularly voted, “the Worlds most livable”.
The city takes its name from the British navigator who landed here in 1792. The original settlement was called “Gastown”, in honor of Gassy Jack, who built the city’s first tavern. Gassy Jack and his makeshift pub may be long gone, but in the historic neighborhood of Gastown, his spirit lingers on.
Vancouver’s early history continues at Waterfront Station, the western terminus of the Canadian Pacific Railway. The railway’s construction brought Chinese workers by the thousands, whose descendants have enriched Vancouver ever since. Experience this interweaving of cultures in Chinatown, where the fusing of Oriental flavors with local seafood has helped earn the city the title, “the Culinary Capital of Canada.”
After visiting Vancouver’s central highlights, ride the ferry to Granville Island. Stock up on provisions at the Granville Island Public Market and sample craft ales at Granville Island Brewing. From Granville Island, head to Queen Elizabeth Park on Little Mountain, a peaceful oasis high above the city.
When it’s time to answer the call of the wild, cross the Lions Gate Bridge to The North Shore, a wilderness where bears roam and salmon-filled rivers flow through old-growth forests. Less than a two-hour drive from the city is Whistler Blackcomb Resort, the largest ski resort in North America. The beautifully connected runs here cater to all skill levels and attract elite skiers and beginners from all over the globe.
3 best poutine spots | Toronto, Canada
Hey guys, Travel Mammal back down here at the Delta hotel in downtown Toronto. Now, you can't talk about comfort food without talking about a Canadian classic; poutine, of course! Here are three spots in Toronto where you can get some of the best in town.
The smoked meat poutine at Caplansky's is really quite famous and ridiculously good. Hand-cut fries, squeaky cheese curds. Even the gravy is made with ground, smoked meat, guys. Need I say more?
Nom Nom Nom. Three words that come to mind when you're talking about Montrealer Marc Perrault. He grew up on poutine guys. He does it the traditional way. In fact, here, you're going to get the delicacy as it was meant to be enjoyed.
Talk about all-star poutine. The Leslieville Pumps covers their fries with herb-salt mix, smoked beef-jus gravy and a variety of cheese curd goodness.
That's what I'm talking about!

Walking on the street of Niagara-On-The-Lake town Easter and Good Friday in Canada
Niagara-on-the-Lake is a town in southern Ontario. It sits on the shores of Lake Ontario, at the mouth of the Niagara River. It's known for its wineries and the summer Shaw Festival, a series of theatre productions. The flower-filled, tree-lined old town features 19th-century buildings, mainly along Queen Street. Near the river, 19th-century Fort George was built by the British to defend against American attacks.
The settlement, known from about 1781 as Butlersburg, in honour of Colonel John Butler, the commander of Butler's Rangers, was renamed West Niagara to distinguish it from Fort Niagara.[3] It was a British military base and haven for pro-British loyalists fleeing the United States during the volatile aftermath of the American Revolution.
Niagara played a central role in the War of 1812. Niagara was taken in the Battle of Fort George by American forces after a two-day bombardment by cannons from Fort Niagara and the American Fleet, followed by a fierce battle. Later in the war, the town was razed and burnt to the ground by American soldiers as they withdrew to Fort Niagara. Undaunted by this setback, often referred to as the burning of Newark, the citizens rebuilt the town after the war, with the residential quarter around Queen Street and toward King Street, where the new Court House was rebuilt using material out of range of Fort Niagara's cannons.
The quieter we become - the more we can hear. The closer we look - the more we can see.

ACADIA NATIONAL PARK & BAR HARBOR Cruise Port l Cruise Vlog l Ep. 29
It's a new day which means we are in Bar Harbor, Maine! This is a tender port (for all cruise ships that visit) so do keep that in mind when booking independent tours (not through the cruise line). I ended up booking an independent tour since I wanted to go with a smaller group/bus. Also, the cruise line tour to Acadia National Park did not spend a lot of time in the park so I opted to book with Acadia National Park Tours. Here is the tour description from their website:
“Our fully narrated bus tour will satisfy even the most info-hungry tour-goer! Featuring three stops within Acadia National Park, the tour emphasizes the history of Bar Harbor and Acadia, the geology, the wildlife, and much more. Tour stops include the summit of Cadillac Mountain (the highest point on the eastern seaboard), Thunder Hole (an ocean-side stop), and either Sieur De Monts Spring (Wild Gardens of Acadia) or the Jordan Pond House.
All tours take place on comfortable buses with an amplified PA system. The amount of walking is limited and at the passenger’s discretion. Restrooms are available at our ticket office and each stop within the park.”
This tour is not sponsored-I paid for it myself and would definitely recommend it if you're wanting to visit Acadia National Park while visiting Bar Harbor. As always, make sure to watch in HD for the best video quality! Hope you enjoy! :)

Acadia Vacation Travel Video Guide
Travel video about destination Acadia in England.
From the steep cliffs of New England’s coast to the north of the State of Maine the power of the sea manifests itself. The region is home to the Acadia National Park whose magnificent forests have made it a popular sightseeing destination.Wealthy entrepreneurs were once attracted to the captivating town of Bar Harbour and had their summer homes there. Since then the region has become a little less glamorous but idyllic scenery and picturesque areas such as Jordan Pond are still exceptionally beautiful. As the name Indian Summer suggests, New England’s most well known season dates back to the golden years of the Native American Indian. The warm days at the beginning of autumn were once the most important time of the year for hunting because it was then that the region’s animals grazed prior to the onset of winter. According to legend the strong dark red colour of the leaves symbolized the blood of slaughtered bears. The ‘autumn summer’ was thus closely associated with the Native Indian hunters of old. Even today the Acadia National Park combines all the natural beauty of Maine in a unique way that captivates all those who experience its irresistible charm.
