COMUNA 13, Medellín: Inside Colombia's Most Dangerous Neighbourhood
Comuna 13 Medellín is famous for once being the most dangerous neighbourhood in not only Colombia but the entire world, due to sky high crime rates and a history of violence.
So what's it like today, after a range of government operations (including the infamous Operacion Orion) and initiatives were implemented in an attempt to revive the neighbourhood? Let's head in & find out.
If you're wondering what to do in Medellín during your time there, we highly recommend taking the Comuna 13 graffiti tour by Toucan Cafe. While it is safe to visit the neighbourhood by yourself, a guided tour will ensure you have a better understanding of the community's evolution throughout the past few decades. It's one of our favourite experiences in Latin America!

GUATAPÉ Will BLOW Your Mind (Best Day Trip From Medellín, Colombia!)
In this vlog we'll explore the beautiful small town of Guatapé, which is just a short 2 hour bus drive outside Medellín, in the Antioquia province of Colombia. This place makes for one of the best day trips from Medellín!
The main attraction in this area is the impressive Rock of Guatapé (El Peñón de Guatapé or Piedra Del Peñol in Spanish), a 200 meters high granitic rock which offers incredible views of the area's artificial lake. The rock is located just a short tuktuk ride from Guatapé's city center and climbing it is by far the most interesting and rewarding thing to do in the area!

Recoleta Cemetery (Buenos Aires, Argentina) - Visit La Recoleta Cemetery
Travel Videos HD, World Travel Guide
This cemetery is arguably BA’s number-one attraction, and a must on every tourist’s list. You can wander for hours in this amazing city of the dead, where countless ‘streets’ are lined with impressive statues and marble mausoleums. Peek into the crypts and check out the dusty coffins and try to decipher the history of its inhabitants. Past presidents, military heroes, influential politicians and the just plain rich and famous have made it past the gates here.
Free tours are offered in English at 11am Tuesday and Thursday and in Spanish at 11am and 3pm from Tuesday to Friday (weather permitting). For a great map and information, order Robert Wright’s PDF guide (recoletacemetery.com); touts also sell maps at the entrance.
Entry to the cemetery was free at the time of research, but an AR$100 entry fee is likely to be implemented early 2016.
