Hawaii's Big Island Vacation Travel Guide | Expedia
The “Big Island” of Hawaii is the largest of the Hawaiian Islands, and offers a fascinating and stunning array of beautiful scenery for you to explore.
Sightseeing on Hawaii’s Big Island means your days will be filled with natural wonders: wander around a lava field, stroll through a tropical rainforest, and take a dip in the warm waters of the Pacific. To get the most out of your Hawaii Big Island tour and to get an idea of what areas you’d like to see up close, we suggest renting a car and exploring Hawaii’s Big Island from behind the wheel. The Onomea Bay Scenic Drive, located along the Hamakua Coast, will take you past shimmering emerald rainforest and astonishing glimpses of the tranquil Pacific Ocean. It’s the perfect place to get some pictures and see what the beauty of Hawaii is really about.
No tour of Hawaii’s Big Island is complete without meeting the sea turtles of Kahalu’u Bay. Strap on your mask and snorkel, and swim around the warm, blue-green waters of the bay to get up close and personal with the turtles and thousands of other sea creatures. If hanging out with the sea life isn’t entirely your cup of tea, you can also try paddleboarding, jet skiing, or a variety of other watersports. Alternatively, you can spoil yourself in the time-honored indulgence of relaxing on the black lava sands, soaking up some of the legendary Hawaiian sunshine.

RAINBOW FALLS + Hawaiian Mythology - Hilo, Big Island, Hawaii
Rainbow Falls is exactly what it advertises -- an amazing waterfall with a rainbow that pops up around mid-morning on sunny days. As a bonus, there's an other-worldly banyan tree grove right next to it.
Just 15 minutes from the Hilo airport, this is a perfect quick & easy waterfall to checkout when you first arrive on the Big Island / the Island of Hawai'i or if you're driving in from Kona.
Even though this particular hike is, well, not a hike, it's still cool to see a waterfall of this size that is accessible to everyone.
This activity is great if you have a family, kids, or any older people in your group who wouldn't normally be able to hike into the wilderness to see a waterfall this majestic.

Maui Real Estate Deals from a Hawaii Real Estate Agent
▶Need a Realtor in Hawaii? Click
Let me tell you a story about this guy from Maine. But first, please know that I CAN help you find Maui Real Estate Deals like this! Like this one for example, because this home has TWO guest cottages, you can rent the main home, rent one cottage, live in the other, and it will pay for itself. Or just rent out the entire property and bank! The mortgage payment with principal, interest, insurance and taxes is $5250. The income from renting the main house is $4,000-4,500 and the cottages will rent for $1400-1800 each. So if you did not live on the property, you would profit $2K minimum per month. Even if you lived in one of the cottages, the property would still pay for itself. There are many such Maui and Haiku Homes for Sale on Acreage and across the entire State of Hawaii!
My advice to every home buyer on Maui (and in Hawaii) is buy a house with at least one ohana (guest cottage in Hawaiian) preferably two, and you will in essence have a property that will almost or entirely pays for itself every month.
I just sold one to a fellow real estate agent from Maine (he's a top producer selling over 300 homes a year, and chose to work with me over all the other agents on Maui...I was honored to say the least.) He paid $750K (also in Haiku) and the property has 4 units that can be rented, then he just built a Yurt to live in for himself! Now he spends his days gardening, checking the surf, and managing his real estate team on his laptop over 6,000 miles away. Pretty cool huh? Smart too.
PS - another one of my clients purchased a 13 unit across the street from the ocean front property for just over $2M....it cash flows $28K per month. I found that one too. Tell me she's not happy.

Hawaii's Best City Tour - FAST HD TOUR
Hawaii (English pronunciation: Listeni/həˈwaɪʲi/ hə-wy-(y)ee; locally, [həˈwɐ(ɪ)ʔi]; Hawaiian: Hawaiʻi [həˈvɐjʔi]) is the 50th and most recent state of the United States of America, receiving statehood on August 21, 1959.[23] Hawaii is the only U.S. state located in Oceania and the only one composed entirely of islands. It is the northernmost island group in Polynesia, occupying most of an archipelago in the central Pacific Ocean. Hawaii is the only U.S. state not located in the Americas. The state does not observe daylight saving time.
The state encompasses nearly the entire volcanic Hawaiian archipelago, which comprises hundreds of islands spread over 1,500 miles (2,400 km). At the southeastern end of the archipelago, the eight main islands are—in order from northwest to southeast: Niʻihau, Kauaʻi, Oʻahu, Molokaʻi, Lānaʻi, Kahoʻolawe, Maui and the Island of Hawaiʻi. The last is the largest island in the group; it is often called the Big Island or Hawaiʻi Island to avoid confusion with the state or archipelago. The archipelago is physiographically and ethnologically part of the Polynesian subregion of Oceania.
Hawaii's diverse natural scenery, warm tropical climate, abundance of public beaches, oceanic surroundings, and active volcanoes make it a popular destination for tourists, surfers, biologists, and volcanologists. Because of its central location in the Pacific and 19th-century labor migration, Hawaii's culture is strongly influenced by North American and Asian cultures, in addition to its indigenous Hawaiian culture. Hawaii has over a million permanent residents, along with many visitors and U.S. military personnel. Its capital is Honolulu on the island of Oʻahu.
Hawaii is the 8th-smallest and the 11th-least populous, but the 13th-most densely populated of the fifty U.S. states. It is the only state with an Asian plurality. The state's coastline is about 750 miles (1,210 km) long, the fourth longest in the U.S. after the coastlines of Alaska, Florida and California.
