Visiting Lesvos Island in Greece
In this week's episode we're on one of Greece's lesser visited islands, Lesvos. Our favourite town on the island was Petra, but there are lots of hidden villages, bays and beaches to explore.
Lesvos has recently seen tourism numbers plummet due to negative media coverage regarding refugees in Lesvos, but in our experience the island felt safe and there were plenty of visitors enjoying a less hectic Lesvos Island.
From the church of Panagia Glykofilousa to the Eftalou Hot Springs, there are plenty of unique sights for tourists to see in Lesvos. Molyvos Village and Molyvos castle were breathtaking, as is Mytilini and Mytilini castle, while Agiasos Town is famous for pottery.

Φημίζεται για την πασίγνωστη σαρδέλα Καλλονής ή παπαλίνα, έναν από τους καλύτερους ουζο-μεζέδες.

A picturesque coastal village at the bay of Kalloni, 42klm from Mytilene.
Its long sandy beach makes it one of the most popular destinations of the island.
Aristotle, founder of Biology, conducted surveys here for over 150 species of fish and animals.
Famous for its renowned sardine of Kalloni or papalina, one of the best ouzo-appetizers.

ΘΑΣΟΣ. ΜΙΑ ΚΑΤΑΠΡΑΣΙΝΗ ΚΑΛΛΟΝΗ ΣΜΙΛΕΜΕΝΗ ΣΤΟ ΜΑΡΜΑΡΟ
Η Κεραμωτή είναι ένα πολύ όμορφος και ήσυχος οικισμός που έχει αναπτυχθεί και τουριστικά εξ αιτίας της γειτνίασής του με τη Θάσο. Η απόσταση άλλωστε από εδώ είναι πολύ μικρότερη, από όσο είναι αν περάσει κανείς από την Καβάλα (το ταξίδι διαρκεί μόλις 40 λεπτά της ώρας με την αργή παντόφλα) και το πέρασμα στη Θάσο πολύ πιο οικονομικό. Πληρώσαμε γύρω στα 30 ευρώ για το αυτοκινούμενο και δύο άτομα και, για να είμαι ειλικρινής, μου κακοφάνηκε, αφού για το ταξίδι από το Λαύριο μέχρι την Καβάλα δεν πληρώσαμε τίποτε! Από την άλλη, είχαμε γλυτώσει το ,για 650 περίπου χιλιόμετρα, συν τα διόδια των μεγαλοεργολάβων, τα οποία, για τα αυτοκινούμενα, κοστίζουν περισσότερο από όσο κοστίζουν τα καύσιμα! Γιατί; Γιατί μας χρεώνουν με το ύψος οι ξεδιάντροποι! Περισσότερα :
