Visiting Lesvos Island in Greece
In this week's episode we're on one of Greece's lesser visited islands, Lesvos. Our favourite town on the island was Petra, but there are lots of hidden villages, bays and beaches to explore.
Lesvos has recently seen tourism numbers plummet due to negative media coverage regarding refugees in Lesvos, but in our experience the island felt safe and there were plenty of visitors enjoying a less hectic Lesvos Island.
From the church of Panagia Glykofilousa to the Eftalou Hot Springs, there are plenty of unique sights for tourists to see in Lesvos. Molyvos Village and Molyvos castle were breathtaking, as is Mytilini and Mytilini castle, while Agiasos Town is famous for pottery.

Molyvos is a large traditional village in Lesvos. It is located on the northwest coast of the north island, 62 km northwest of Mytilene. It is a very picturesque village, north of the eponymous bay above which stands the old fortress. It has a small harbor through which the traffic is mainly fishing boats and tourist yachts.

SUBSCRIBE: - Let's go to the beautiful Greek Island of Lesvos (Lesbos) and let's visit the incredibly beautiful beach of Vatera (Βατερα), one of the longest and most beautiful beaches in Greece. Vatera is the best place to be if you are traveling with your family or are looking for a quiet place to enjoy the sea and nature as well as good food and the nearby hot springs of Polychnitou.
Vatera is seven kilometers of uninterrupted sandy beach. This is one beach that seems to extend forever. The town of Vatera itself stretches a couple kilometers and is made up of some really nice tavernas, a pizza place or two, several small bars, a few shops and some terrific family oriented hotels.
