Serbia – The land of new beginnings
| | |
Serbia seen through the eyes of the World’s famous tourist bloggers, who were the guests of the National Tourism Organisation of Serbia. This video shows the impression our country left on discerning guest
„Ever thought of visiting Serbia? You might want to consider it. Serbia was in the Lonely planet top 10 of 2015, not without a reason. We're launching NEW StoryTravelers video by Mark Hofmeyr: Serbia, land of new beginnings.“ – Caspar Daniël Diederik
“Under the glare of former headlines, Serbia is shouting about its stunningly beautiful country flanked by mountainous plains, mixed with historically preserved towns and cities. Neither disappeared during war. They were simply shrouded, ready to be unveiled when the time came for a new beginning – in a Serbia that even if somewhat still politically fragmented, is both safe and open for exploration.” - Becki Enright
- Becki Enright
Serbia - Vojvodina
The fertile plains of Vojvodina are dotted with ploughed fields, cornfields, vineyards and orchards, connected by irrigation and drainage canals between the large Danube and Tisa rivers, as well as the Sava, Tamiš, Begej and Nera rivers and the streams of Fruška Gora. Major waterways divide Vojvodina into Bačka, Banat and Srem.
The distinctive landscape of the Pannonian Plain is also sprinkled with lonely, old draw-wells in the fields and windmills which once harnessed the power of the wind to grind wheat. Horses gallop around the spacious plain, either harnessed into carriages or mounted in one of the many Vojvodinian stables.
The blend of peoples, languages, faiths and cultures, which live in harmony and with mutual respect, brighten up the towns and villages of Vojvodina, creating wonderful diversity in the architecture of houses and yards, the style of furniture in guest rooms, the colours and decorations of national dress, the taste of food, the music and folklore and folk and religious customs.

#29 - Belgrade, Serbia - Avala episode 1 - The Phantom Road
To celebrate the first 20,000.. not leagues under the sea but views for the channel (whoa!), I've created a new MTB.Sv visual identity. Just a humble way of saying thank you all. And the first film to use it is a special treat - a three episode marathon of Mt Avala! One of the most popular locations, great for a field trip, a hike, walk, bike ride.
In this episode, I'll show you how to get there the easiest, safest and most enjoyable way many don't seem to know about. Starting from Labudovo brdo (near Vidikovac), through Resnik (offroad) and Pinosava, I'll take you to Avala and the point where the real climb starts. You'll see some amazing landscapes, enjoy the nature and bike ride and... I've added one more bonus - the beautiful (and neglected) lake Pariguz in Resnik! Enjoy.
