Köyliö is a former municipality of Finland. It was merged to the municipality of Säkylä on 1 January 2016.It was located in the province of Western Finland and was part of the Satakunta region. The population of Köyliö was 2,665 and covered a land area of 246.06 km2 . The population density was 10.8307/km2 . The municipality was unilingually Finnish. It is said that the peasant Lalli murdered the English bishop Henry on the ice of Lake Köyliö in 1155 AD, during the first Swedish Crusade into Finland. A statue to Lalli was erected at Köyliö in 1989.

The Moomins are the central characters in a series of books and a comic strip by Swedish-speaking Finnish illustrator Tove Jansson, originally published in Swedish by Schildts in Finland. They are a family of white, round fairy tale characters with large snouts that make them resemble hippopotamuses. The carefree and adventurous family live in their house in Moominvalley, though in the past, their temporary residences have included a lighthouse and a theatre. They have had many adventures along with their various friends. In all, nine books were released in the series, together with five picture books and a comic strip being released between 1945 and 1993.
