Tram crowd at La Courneuve-8 Mai 1945
We have gone above ground at La Courneuve-8 Mai 1945, where we see a large crowd waiting on either side of the tram tracks for the Line 1 tram. The one tram we see coming into the station is headed for Asnières-Gennevilliers-Les Courtilles. The crowding here was intense, and between the people and the cars, the tram was delayed for a good two or three minutes. In the next video, we will get on a tram to Noisy-le-Sec. If you have any questions about the video, feel free to message me. Comments are welcome. The video was taken on July 1st, 2016.
If you love Argentina, go and see the “My Buenos Aires” exhibition at the Maison Rouge until 23 September. The exhibition takes an opposite view of the romantic vision of Buenos Aires. Paula Aisemberg and Albertine de Galbert aren’t looking to present a portrait of the city or a list of leading Argentinian artists to the Maison Rouge public, but more of a sensation, an experience of the dynamics at work in the capital...

Do:
Discover monuments and cultural buildings normally closed to the general public free of charge.
For example, the Elysée Palace, the National Assembly, the “Cour des Comptes” which sits in the Palais Bourbon…or – less cheering – the La Santé Prison, etc. In short, take advantage of an opportunity to explore places that are sometimes unusual but full of history. How? By taking part in the 32nd “Journées du Patrimoine” (Heritage Days) on 19 and 20 September …The emphasis this year is on 21st Century heritage “a story of the future”.

Give yourself a fright at the Paris Museum of Modern Art, by visiting The House of Horrors. Produced as part of Sturtevant’s monograph exhibition “The Razzle Dazzle of Thinking” in 2010 at the ARC, it’s the artist’s last major installation prior to his death in 2014. This donation made by the artist has been added to the Paris Museum of Modern Art’s permanent collections which now contain over 10,000 works.

I think this is called the Marché de L'Olive, named for Olive Street in a far Northern part of Paris near Porte de La Chapelle. This market is open every morning. We find better prices in the markets of La Courneuve, Saint-Denis and Stains, but on the other hand, this one had good variety and the merchandise looked high quality.
This is a very working class, grungy, ethnic part of Paris. We'd visited an Asiatic store nearby and my Parisian spouse, who's from Montreuil, has developed a penchant for grapes from the South of France since we've had so many nice visits here, so we popped by here and I was quite undecided as to what to buy. I love octopus salad but he hates it -- I saw meat cuts I'd never seen anywhere else before. There are lots of African, Indian and Asiatic stores around this place. Since they generally sell sweets and prepared foods, if you're visiting and staying in a hotel, you could come here to get picnic supplies.
Paris has many markets. A lot is produced right around here. Some of the markets are tourist priced, however. You might do better with some of the more modest ones.
Even though this neighborhood is rather ugly, a huge effort has been done to improve the market, which I think has solar power as does the one by me in Saint-Denis. Christmas decorations were very nice here and will stay up until the end of Epiphany in January. I saw the most beautiful scallops here I think I've ever seen. Many French people do not have refrigerators and shop daily, using garde mangers to keep the mice away from their cheese, paté and other victuals for brief periods of a few days. Never, ever go to stay or dine with a French family if you have a dietary restriction! They will be very unable to accommodate you and upset you didn't say anything in advance. It's highly rude to do this. Food is respected here and portioned. You can't say, I don't eat that, I cannot eat that. You take a bite no matter what, chew it, swallow, shut up and YOU CAN STOP EATING IT. We don't generally do second helpings here or large portions. That's why you don't see all that many very fat French people, I suppose.

Paris for Kids - Le métro parisien
Paris for Kids. The best and probably cheapest entertainment for kids in Paris is a ride on the Paris métro. There are also countless buskers as Niko and Mischa Lüfkens have discovered during their two week stay in Paris. Best suited for a tour of the town are the two lines that go above ground (le métro aérien).
Traverser Ouest de Paris vers l'A16 par Neuilly/s Seine(1/4).
