According to ilivehere.co.uk, which has been compiling this list for more than a decade, with the votes from thousands of readers, these are the WORST places to live in England.
10: Blackpool
Once famed for its golden mile, Blackpool now conjures up images of drunken stags and hens, falling over in the street and spewing on themselves, before retiring to a grotty seaside B&B.
9: Oldham
The most deprived town in England according to the ONS, where the streets have been described as “graffiti covered, fly-tipped shells of what they once were”.
8: Sunderland
has the highest rate of teen pregnancies in Europe.
sexual offences, violent crime and theft are all on the up and are higher than the national average. (I’ve seen policemen on pedal bikes chasing chavs in stolen cars. You might not believe it but I really have seen it!)
7: Gravesend
One voter comments: I have lived in Gravesend all my life. I have visited many other crap towns across Kent like Lewisham, Dartford, Chatham and so on and not one so far, has even came near to being as chav infested as Gravesend.
6. BRADFORD
A Commenter says: Bradford is literally hell on earth. The city centre resembles a squalid cess pit, full of monstrous partially demolished 60’s concrete office blocks, Pound shops, amusement arcades, prostitutes, heroin addicts, Eastern European car-jackers, Asian drug dealers, pre-pubescent mums and mad alcoholic tramps having arguments with themselves.
Being the sixth largest city in the country, in terms of population, it now boasts another famous serial killer...
5: ROCHDALE
One in seven people in Rochdale had no qualifications at all. Weekly earnings were £413 on average last year, compared to £676 in London.
4. SCUNTHORPE
A town once voted the least romantic place in the country.
Apparently Maccy Ds is a chav’s staple diet. Well the small town of Scunthorpe has 3.
3. LUTON
One commenter points out; on Christmas day the local McDonalds gets busier every year”
Black, White, Asian it doesn’t matter, everyone looks like they’re trying to escape or have given up hope on life itself.
2. KINGSTON UPON HULL
based on official government statistics, Hull is the worst place to live in England.
1. DOVER
Apparentñy Dover only beat Hull by 16 votes.
One reader comments;
Let us for a moment imagine that the British Isles are the silhouette of an old man. Scotland is his cap, Cornwall his toes, Anglia his curved spine, making Dover his herpes infested s**t-hole.
Which do you think is the Worst Place to Live in England?
Magical time in London

London is the capital of England and largest city of both England and of the United Kingdom, it is also the largest city in Western Europe and the European Union. Most residents of Greater London are very proud of their capital, the multiculturalism of the city. At its centre stand the imposing Houses of Parliament, the iconic ‘Big Ben’ clock tower and Westminster Abbey, site of British monarch coronations. Across the Thames River, the London Eye observation wheel provides panoramic views of the South Bank cultural complex, and the entire city.
Greater London consists of 32 London boroughs and the City of London that, together with the office of the Mayor of London, form the basis for London's local government.

London has existed in various incarnations for two millennia. The commercial capital was the City of London. This had a dense population and all the other pre-requisites of a medieval city: walls, a castle (The Tower of London), a cathedral (Saint Pauls), a semi-independent City government, a port and a bridge across which all trade was routed so Londoners could make money (London Bridge).
About an hour upstream (on foot or by boat) around a bend in the river was the government capital (Westminster). This had a church for crowning the monarch (Westminster Abbey) and palaces. As each palace was replaced by a larger one, the previous one was used for government, first the Palace of Westminster (better known as the Houses of Parliament), then Whitehall, then Buckingham Palace. The two were linked by a road called The Strand, old English for riverbank.
Modern-day London in these terms is a two-centre city, with the area in between known confusingly as the West End. However, even this doesn't define the actual central area of London, which extends slightly beyond the City and Westminster, as inner portions of the surrounding boroughs (Kensington & Chelsea, Camden, Islington, Hackney, Tower Hamlets, Southwark and Lambeth) also lie within Central London.

There are so many markets in London it can be hard to know which ones to go to. Today we visited three markets that were recommended to us by some London locals.
First stop is Camden Market. This area is known for cheap knock-offs, bric-a-brac, and food. It’s got a young, alternative vibe and is a very lively marketplace.

Lastly, we visit the infamous Borough Market. The oldest food market in London didn’t disappoint. Here you can find loads of delicious food and drinks to either take home and cook or just grab a bite to eat while there.

MORE trains at Summer Hill station
Various trains at Summer Hill in Sydney. These include K sets, V sets (intercity), M sets (Millennium trains), A sets (Waratah trains) H sets (OSCars) and an S set (seen at 0:23).
Sydney's suburban network is operated by Sydney Trains. The network consists of seven separate lines and 176 stations. The network's hub is at Central station, which serves as an interchange with light rail, intercity and regional train services.
There are currently 48 four-carriage S sets in service, or 24 in eight-carriage formation.
All of Sydney's suburban trains, as well as all electric trains operating intercity services, have two decks. It's an interesting feature to those from outside Sydney's suburban and intercity networks. It also means that crowding is as minimal as it can be for a mass-transit system that carries 325 million people per year across 176 stations.
